What would be a good book that covers using php with MySQL? Liljim told me a few a while back, but I can't remember the titles of any of them.

Php Fast & Easy Web Development- Julie C. Meloni
Damn right about the fast and easy. I got that book because I knew I might have problems getting settled in, having no formal training in C or any of the other languages that inherit from C. It's great to start with, but you're probably advanced enough to be past what's in this book, as it's so simple (it doesn't even go into how to create your own functions!).
PHP 4 Bible- Tim Converse, Joyce Park
Yeah, not bad. It's packed full of examples, just that those examples are... Not followed through. Good on the fundamentals.
Core PHP Programming- Leon Atkinson
This one was floating around the office (not literally floating, obviously). I wouldn't recommend it.
PHP Pocket Refernce- Rasmus.
This is the guy who started PHP rolling. Neat little reference.
To be honest, you only need a half-way decent book that you find comfortable reading - the online resources take care of you after you've acquired knowledge of the basic/semi-advanced stuff.

Professional Php Programming (Programmer to Programmer) is THE PHP bible.
I have it and love it. This purchase was also based on Ross's recommendation.

I'll probably get that one. I think I may buy more than one though.

But couldn't you just photocopy every page of it and mail it to me? All you have to do is copy 9xx pages, and I'll even pay for the shipping.

i use begining php 4 : ARNING this book is fuckin costing..... you may find it at www.wrox.com its about$39.99 us, and £28.99 uk prices but it i worth the money. If you would like the more advanced books same site but Professional PHP programming is one of the best along with this one. I don't really use any other books apart from teh begining php 4 as it was one of my first books but www.php.net is good for looking p crap alond with www.webmonkey.com and www.evilwalrus.com.
I hope this has been a help
