I want to go all the way with flash. I have the Bamboo Fun (small) and was wondering this: if i want to go pro with flash, should i ditch the B.F. and get a Cintiq?

You don't have to go all the way with Cintiq but a better tablet would help.

he said that he's already got a bamboo fun, and is just wondering whether its worth upgrading. in my view, theres no point in upgrading if your happy with the one you've got. if it works well and everything then theres no need for a new one. im not entirly sure wat the cintiq is (but assuming its a more expensive tablet), ive not got any experence with either of these tablets, but can tell you that the intuos has been really good for me.

Depends on how serious you are with it. A cintiq isnt something you buy, use for a couple of weeks and then put away in the closet. If you got the motivation, the money and the ambition then it might be worth the purchase

it's a digital tablet of sensors... it outputs the position, pressure, and sometimes orientation of a digital pen. it's often used for drawing... but if you're no good with a pencil... it won't help AT ALL. it won't teach you anything just by holding it.

and the Cintique.... i don't think is too much worth it. wait another generation until they play well in laptops. the guys from QC, AppleGeeks, and VGcats swear by it... but it's a personal choice.

define Cintique : a tablet built inside a monitor.

my art thread. and a request thread
pm me if i should start a webcomic. 9 people think so!
but how to make it not like all the others...?

If you feel comfortable with a tablet, if you have a tablet and hardly use it do not buy it, but if you are comfortable with 2 months + of tablet usage then go for it if you have that kind of money.

Im saving up for one : D

Define Tablet PC
A Laptop inside a Cintiq for half the price (and admitedly, half the screen size...).

I swear by my new tablet laptop. Cost me £700, and runs Vista on a dual core AMD. Doesn't run games too well, but runs Flash beutifully, and is a great little thing to use in Starbucks. Light as anything too.

If you need a new computer at the same time as a new tablet, buy a Gateway C140 if you're in the US, or a hp2000 series if you want to save some cash or are in Europe.

Oh you dirty dog you, going ALL THE WAY with flash :P

Seriously though, i would recommend getting a tablet, however, a cintiq is not neccesary. Go for an intuos 3, preferably a size that is not the very smallest one (4x6 i think) i've used one and have found that its really annoying when you try to draw something and your hand is rested on the rounded bottom half. (by rounded ... yeah, its rounded, and it sucks). Hurt my hand after a while.
Then again, the biggest intuos... like..12 x ..10..maybe? im not sure, i've used one of those too,and while its AMAZING, its overkill really. (my school has one of both) and to use it i had to push the computer back, and then get rid of the keyboard completely for it to fit. You can get amazing detail with the big one, its also like 600$ or so.

Another problem i have with cintiq is that if you do use it, you might end up smudging the screen, as the computer monitor IS the tablet. Not only that, your hand MIGHT get in the way of drawing something to the right of what you are drawing. (or left..if you're a lefty)

Me, i have a Intuos 3 6x8 and i think its a perfect size, but thats just me. Let me know which one your going to get!
Hope i could shed some insight on the topic

i dont mean to bump this, but i have been busy the last day or so.

i am 100% serious with flash. I just cant seem to do that well with a dinky little tablet and actual can hand-draw better. So could this tablet be what i'm looking for? (i have like $800 for it so far)
