It might be. I don't know how many Leannes you know, where you come from or how you met them!

Lily is nice.

While we're at it, why don't we call girls names like Peter and Gary?

And we'll call boys names like Betty and Helen!

Sam is commonly a shortened version of Samuel, I never hear Samantha's being called "Sam", since it's boyish.

And Alex is just short for Alexander, I don't care how many yanks think it's a cute idea to call a girl "Alex".

Spare me.

Probably because Sam is short for Samantha and Alex is short for Alexandria, usually.

You will be a horrible parent. Your daughter will have gender confusion and end up committing suicide. Society won't accept her, and I certainly won't. I'm in charge of society, learn the rules or leave immediately.

Seriously, it's just a name. Sam can me Samuel or Samantha, so get over yourself. Stereotypes, even of genders, will lead to your downfall. Put on your white pointy hat now, while you're at it.

Sorry. Alexandra. It's a nice name. Nothing wrong with using the shortened version, like people do with other names.
