Why do you think that? I always carry a blade on me whenever I go anywhere except class. But even sometimes, I carry one then if I am having a day in which I feel uneasy.

Depends where you're driving. If you're driving through Times Square and Manhattan, you're not going to have a good time at all. However, if you're using parkways and you know the highways well, then you can get to wherever you want in a quarter of the time (yes, that much faster) compared to public transportation.
