Could anyone here who knows a lot about NG write up a big and neat article about it here: http://anipedia.thebackalleys.com/index.
php/Newgrounds

Rtil made anipedia a loooong time ago but barely anyone contributed which is sad. If you want to make a flash tutorial (which would be GREAT), a page about yourself (which is welcome as long as you made flashes on NG) or just a general article about animation or products like flash, feel free to do it.

If memory serves, there is also a more specific Newgrounds based wikipeda somewhere online. I must confess that the precise name thereof escapes me at this moment in time. However, I do agree with you that the articles concerning Newgrounds both on the site you cited, and even on Wikipedia itself, could do with a good deal more editing. At present, they are somewhat anaemic, and in dire need of fleshing out. However, the question would be an issue of finding someone who is not only knowledgeable enough about Newgrounds to make such a contribution, but whose command of the English language is sufficiently advanced therefor. After all, would you really desire these kind of articles to be written in the style favoured by the majority of people in the General forums? I think not.

I wouldn't want it to be written as dorky as your post either though. This is the internet, pull that stick out of your ass and stop acting like a fucking secretary. Thanks for posting anyways, seeing as no one else cared.

ps. anemic*

That's great and all, but WTF does the "ani" in anipedia stand for?

Heh. Yeah, wikigrounds. And someone's already linked to it, huzzah!

WTF? The guy's "dorky" writing is him considering your post carefully and writing plenty of text back to you on the subject, and you reward him by calling it dorky and saying his ass has a fucking STICK up it, and he's a freakin' secretary?

Maybe all of that is true. But you're a fucking douchebag, so I guess you two are even. I'll stick with his kind.

Truth be told, it doesn't really bother me. I know fully well that my English is somewhat unusual to say the very least. Before you ask, yes, I am a native English speaker, and I haven't simply been taught to write like this all the time. Some people like the way I write, while others will think it too formal. I see no reason why I should allow myself to get annoyed thereby in the slightest, or to hold a grudge against anyone who expresses such a viewpoint. After all, he's only stating his point of view, nothing more.

I'm the most formal writer/Grammar Nazi on Wi/Ht?... hell, in Wi/Ht? HISTORY, it's safe to say, so I appreciate formality, needless to say.

It really seems like there's a lot of people following you in here from other parts of NG BBS to flame you. Is that true, or am I getting the wrong impression from some of these recent threads? I'm referring here to this one... and to that other thread where someone asked you "why you were on these forums" and you responded as to why you post to Wi/Ht? to them.

SO WEIRD.

I'm glad you guys are helping people with animation by making a wiki, but it doesn't seem like it'll go anywhere, due to lack of visitors.

This is MrBlue, btw.

No, I would not go as far as saying that people are deliberately trying to flame me on this site for my style of writing. To the very best of my knowledge, I have received only two such comments thus far. Granted, there may be others written to posts whose threads I have not checked in some time. However, I would also say that a distinction needs to be drawn between the two cases that you have cited. In one, there is a clear comment being passed about my writing style, which, again, does not concern me. The other was a question concerning the reason wherefore I decide to post in the BBS at all seeing as I tend to have a rather low opinion of the General forum in comparison with this one.

I guess I was reading too much into it, then. Just seemed weird that it started happening all of a sudden... but anywho. It's lame, either way it happens (the former or the latter case). Let's hope it stops altogether. :::nods:::

Um. No, no it wasn't, clearly.

'twere it named Animapedia, I probably wouldn't have had to ask.

But then some smartass woulda come in here and made a comment about it being a psychology textbook reference source or something, especially dealing with Carl Jung's concepts of "anima," "animus," and so forth. #;-}>

I'm disappointed Psi43, here I was expecting you to be nice to newgrounders in order to attract their favor, have you not heard the old saying "You catch more flies with honey than vinegar"? Be kind to those you are asking help from, not a demeaning asshole. This is Squeef, while I agree full well that we are in-fact on the internet, that does not automatically exclude courtesy and intellect from the equation. Personally I think that Perceptor would have been a great person to write up an article due to his magnificent prose and writing habits, but you seem to have a stick up your ass so to speak when it comes to people with proper Grammar and such.

Go ahead and call me a faggot pssiii,,, its the fucken ngbbs not tba or aim or some shit plus im allowed to have my own opinions k

Well spoken there, 50vmp. But I must say, I've seen just as many of these newbie threads where you bash the newbie as threads where you help the newbie. Not saying you're as bad as ol' Psi43 there, but we could probably all stand to remember the lesson you just described, myself included.

LET'S ALL HOLD HANDS IN A CIRCLE AND SING FOLK SONGS.

If no one who wishes the atmosphere around them was less hostile and more friendly ever spoke out...

The world would be filled with even more war, my friend.

I choose to speak, 'tis all. You can keep flaming teh newbs if you like, I just wanted to ask you to consider toning it down a bit. THE POWER IS IN YOUR HANDS.

Don't use your teenhood as an excuse, though. I'm only 30, I remember being 16 like it was fucking yesterday. Time flies. It flies way faster than it has any damn right to.... :::dies of old age::: Suck.

You know I actually had a swell chat with ZekeySpaceyLizard and he agreed with my recent decision to stop stupidly flaming people, and to start putting my talent into my toons. Funny.

I do like trolling and flaming people though, its one of the funnest things to do on the internet as far as im concerned. I try to relegate it to being nice and helpful on this account and a big meany on my troll account. I guess it comes from me doing that ever since I first started using forums and stuff.

I wasn't trying to use my teen-ness as an excuse I swear! Okay maybe just a little bit.

I was just telling Psi43 to be nicer if he's asking for help, when I flame people im usually just blindly flaming them not right after I asked them for help ya know? :/

Anyway.. I do respect you gfox you are one of the "ngbbs fags" I actually like lmao. I guess I'm becoming an ngbbs faggot myself as of late... Maybe its not the worst thing in the world to lay down the helm of pissing people off with stupid spam, and picking up the goblet of being a normal person.

Dunno! But being a teen I have my whole life ahead of me so there is always that to consider.

How did this topic turn into such a different topic? lmao. I'm not even gonna bother revising my post so if it doesn't make any sense you'll have to bear with me. Apologies in advance.

ZEKEY IS... THE MAN.

Since you're a friend of his, I hope you've already seen his early flashes, but if you need a burst of inspiration on how to add talent into your flashes, I suggest these (my fave of his, all time):

http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/11 9349 - Dis-illusioned Pirate
http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/18 5588 - Melty the Snowman
http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/18 5998 - Bumpercar Gremlin
http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/20 2940 - I'm Blue
http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/21 2127 - The RedWar

Sure it is, but it's really much more of an appropriate pastime on NG in General, and perhaps to lesser degrees in C&C and VG and Politics... well, of COURSE in Politics. #;-}> It just doesn't fit as well with Wi/Ht?, and I think you can understand why.

I wasn't trying to use my teen-ness as an excuse I swear! Okay maybe just a little bit.

Yes, you were. You were all "hey, don't blame me, I'm still figuring out how this whole INTRAWEBS works, I'm only 16!"

I found out about the net when I was 16 in the 90s, and I got my first modem (14.4k, BABY!) when I turned 17 as a birthday present, so I never got to "grow up with the net" like I grew up with TV and video games and so forth.... but I'm still glad I wasn't an old 60 year old fogie when the Net hit it big.

I was just telling Psi43 to be nicer if he's asking for help, when I flame people im usually just blindly flaming them not right after I asked them for help ya know? :/

Yeah, I know. I actually called him a douchebag earlier in the thread. That's why I said maybe we all need to remember these lessons sometimes. I'm no exception.

Anyway.. I do respect you gfox you are one of the "ngbbs fags" I actually like lmao.

Yeah, well... there are plenty of mostly-respectable people on Where is/How to? (such as BonusStage and iscrulz, as good examples) who are different posters entirely when you turn them loose on General, so... just keep the stupidity in General, and we'll all get along fine.

How did this topic turn into such a different topic? lmao. I'm not even gonna bother revising my post so if it doesn't make any sense you'll have to bear with me. Apologies in advance.

Any topic worth its weight in shit should be able to totally change a few times and still come around to the point eventually. LONG LIVE THE TANGENT.
