Half-Life 2: Episode 3 Speculations

I have high expectations for Half-Life 2: Episode 3, and I'm really impatient to play it.

As you've probably learned in Episode 2 (If not, leave this thread and go beat HL2: Episode 2!), Half-Life 2: Episode 3 will mainly happen in the Borealis, a "legendary" ship of Aperture, Black Mesa's rivals and the creators of the famous Portal Canon.

What I believe will happen in HL2: Episode 3...

- We will discover a working Portal gun in the Aperture ship.
- The G-Man will have a WAY bigger role in this Episode than any other Half-Life game.
- Alyx Vance will be darker, not joyful as usual. The death of her father will make her eager for vengeance against the Advisers.
- We will probably kill an Adviser with the help of the Portal gun + Gravity gun.

All I can say is that the Gravity gun AND the Portal gun in the SAME GAME will make Episode 3 the best Single-Player FPS game I'll ever play, if we can actually use both those guns in the game.

I wouldn't like a portal gun in HL2 No. 3 it would ruin the gameplay we have in HL at the moment it will turn into some wacky game like "Prey." I agree with you on the storyline part, I think there will be a fixed shooting mission on the Chopper involving shooting advisers.

In other games it's okay, because their silence is never alluded to. But people are actively aware of the fact that Gordon never talks. He should say, like, one word at the very end or something. That'd be dramatic, right?

You say about the Portal Gun, but Portal 2 has been confirmed. So why would we have it yet? I believe it has a tie in with the G-Man, because he opens and closes portals, so maybe he modified the gun to open the portal for the Combine.

I read in my valve newsletter from pc gamer that the gman is actauly gordan freeman but they were caught in a space time continuem and are seperated. notice how whenever you have the sights of the gman you always see places that you see later in the game.

Half-Life 1 was one of the greatest game ever made. Basically every single FPS made after this one, including Halo and all those overrated games have been influenced by HL1.

He's saying it revolutionised on how FPS games will be and are now and in the past.

Half Life 1 was an extremely good game. It had good graphics (for the time), good gameplay, good storyline and it's a generally accepted FPS series overall. What's there not to love about it? It's got aliens, zombies, soldiers and scientists. Doesn't get more epic... oh wait it does! You get mutated humans in suits called the combine!
