I've just finished my part, but since there is no rush, I'll just keep it and polish my little pet for now.

Johnny, do you just "compile" until the 10 mb limit is reached or untill flash cannot handle it anymore?
Are we using Action Script 2 or 3? (2 is prefered ^^)

Thanx.. Yours is looking quite good too. A little sugestion though... try making his shoulder not so wide. His arm is a bit too far from his neck imo.

Aghh, I forgot about that. When I was editing the body, I forgot to place the arm back in place. I thought something looked funny on him.

also i assume cs3 format will be A OK and its A OK if i use a ascam within my movieclip? if this has been anwserd already then im super duper sorry but i dont feel like skimming over 13 pages of banter. Oh and you didnt specify a background colour, eventhough i assume people will make sure to make a bg that fills the entire canvas, but you never know!

So Johny, couple of questions here to make sure I have gotten them right:

Q1. So what do you mean by "single frame movie clip"?
Is it just that I make my collab part in to a movie clip and make the frame (that has the movie clip in it in the main timeline) 24* seconds long?
OR
Will I put the collab part in to a movie clip and make it have "_root.play();" in the last frame of the MC?

Q2. We are allowed to use Action Script as long it's the version 2.0 we are using, right?
I'm using vCam in my part so I would like to know that.

*= 24 secs is the length of my part

I have some ideas for the MGS collab, however, I have no flash skills whatsoever and I have no Macromedia Flash to begin with :P
whoever is interested, here are my ideas

The Virtuous Mission of 1961 (MGS 3)
1. The Halo jump had not been invented yet, so Snake enters Tselinoyarsk by a standard paradrop which means that he would open his parachute a few minutes after he jumps out and that he would get owned by the flak cannons
2. Since Snake's small radio was prepared in 1962, Snake enters the forest with a freakin large radio backpack
2a. the weight of the backpack gives him broken legs when he lands
2b. when chased by Ocelot in the sewers, he jumps out into the river and gets shocked by his own radio
2c. during his Volgin torture, Volgin's electricity makes the old radio backpack explode, killing Snake, time paradox
3. The russian hovercrafts had not yet been finalized, so Kirov Airships are patrolling the forest
4. Because of the rush [making the mission one year earlier], Snake was instead issued with an M1 Garand and Mark II Grenades meaning he has to face the Shagohod with that
5. The Shagohod wasn't there yet
6. There was no Dolinovodno bridge

7. Ocelot was still a noob, dropping his revolvers every time he tried to spin them
8. The End, being unable to prepare tranquilizer rounds, used live ammunition in Sokroveno

all you gotta do is copy your entire animation into a movieclip and put that movieclip on frame 1..and make sure its aligned correctly with the stage. OR animate it in a movieclip to begin with. easy peasy

M1KES : you use plasma ? Or what ? Your snake looks 3D made... or Traced ?

He said he used SSBB Snake so it's probably traced, if he didn't use the SSBB snake as a reference.
I did my snake by looking at SSBB Snake's look several times and drew him in my style afterwards.

His design for Snake looks like the best from what I have seen so far, though.

Too bad it can't be everybody in a MASS submission. O well I'll try it. I'm sure I can make at least a 10 second movie

I'm defo in, just give me time and all will be fine.

I'll give it a try. I know nothing of fancy pants Flash techniques, though. Just the basics.

I also know little to nothing about Metal Gear. WON'T STOP ME!

And a suggestion: make an anti-collab, with all the worst submissions, put to Kenny G music.
