Actually, the ideas of socialism are born from that of Marxism, So they are infact even earlier than imperialism.
Plus, what kind of conservative are you talking about, Neo conservative or paleo conservative.

Marxism dates back to Marx, who lived in the 19th century. Imperialism dates back over a thousand years.

Not really. I'm very conservative, and I only support war when it is absolutely necessary.
Actually, I don't know any conservatives that follow imperialistic political beliefs that date back hundreds of years. Sure, I know some that wish for retaliation if a country does harm to us, but that's just rational thinking, not imperialism.
