....How would it make you feel?
I dont think we consider what it will be like when our pets die. And I have mixed emotions about it.

Sad of course.
I've had my cat for over 10 years.

I'd be shocked. I've been through alot with my pets and when they die, I'll think of those times which won't help at all except making me feel worse about the issue.

If my ferret Jack died tomorrow, I wouldn't really care too much. Now my son on the other hand would most likely be inconsolable. Same goes for my parakeets Stupid and Stupid's Bitch.

My dog is very old. I would be sad, but I would not be distraught, as he would now be at peace.
As I say that I hear his familiar click clack against my wood floors and I can't help but think I would be very upset for at least a day.
Thanks for making me depressed about something that is going to happen relatively soon. :(

I'd be really upset about it. I've been through a lot of animal loses throughout my life, but only 2 deaths. Wouldn't want to lose my dog nor my bird.

I consider it all the time, most likely because I am an over emotional animal nut. To put it blantly I will cry for my dog when she dies more then I will cry for most humans I know.
I got her as a puppy back when I depressed and she's been my rock almost. I love her as much as a person can love another animal without getting farm yard sexual on it. I will miss her so much, and will struggle to cope for a long time after her death. She's more then a pet to me.

You should get a puppy while Frankie is still alive, so he can teach the youngster everything he knows and raise him in his image. That way, when Frankie finally goes to that big living room couch in the sky, a bit of his personality and knowledge will still carry on.
Also, if my pet died, I would take him up to the Pet Cemetery and bury him in the ancient Indian burial ground, thus bringing him back to live. Sadly, little Barry will be born again pure evil - but on the plus side, Barry is a goldfish, so I doubt his new evil nature will be that noticeable.

I'd be very saddened, I love both my cats quite a bit.

Yeah, the idea is to get Frankie pregnant, and keep one of HER (=P) puppies, raising that puppy, but who knows. It wouldn't matter, even if I had more pets, when Frankie dies I'll be a wreck, but it will never stop me having more animals. No matter how heart broken I get with each pets death, it just goes to show how much I loved and looked after them while they were alive, and my heartbreak matters not as long as I know I can say I gave them a good home while they lived.
More Frankie because I'm feeling emotional now.

I only have some fish, and they die all the time, sometimes without me even noticing for day on end.

I would be sad, but not super sad. My cat seems to be more distant then other cats I've had in the past.

Trivet (meh dog) ... he's a little troublemaker, but I love 'em and I'd be sad nevertheless.

I'd be a little sad, but it's not something I'd be depressed about for the next month. It's your pet, not a human being. They don't live as long as humans and it's not the same interactions as you have with a human. Maybe it's just me, but I can never find myself getting too attached to a pet.

Considering I recently lost three pets within the time space of a year (with plenty of time in between to develop emotional attachment), I think I'd just stop with the pets for a while.

I'd probably be quite upset if my cats died, I'm not sure how I would react with my rats and dog. I don't think I would feel anything for our Shetland, aw. I dislike him.

If my catfish Larry died, I'd be EXTREMELY sad.
He's a catfish 2 inches long, 5 years old, and can survive a Nuclear War.
