Well, apparently they're not that new. I Googled "popunder" and there's articles dating back to 2002 or so. I did think it was pretty amusing though.

Well I read an article that said popunders may be more effective than popups.

Also, look at what that one ad did! I made a thread on an immensely popular forum, mentioning IMDB. That's a huge plug! Clever little ads GET PEOPLE TALKING, that's their primary goal.

You know that's actually pretty smart. Because if after people are done using one window they'll be more likely to look at a window they didn't know was up, as opposed to a window that interrupts them.

I've one or two of those before. I close my browser and there's a pop-up there. That or it's just sitting in my taskbar, but hasn't popped up anywhere. Luckily, I get very few pop-ups.
