What, you loser I did that easy when I was 8 years old.
Top-down level. Pfff that's easy.
But then the game gets really hard. And then it gets harder.
And after that it finally gets serious.
Thinking back on it, the super nintendo was a bitch console. Games were hard as hell on there, and I've played a LOT of em'.
Probably couldn't get through 90% of them without an emulator.
FF6 is piss easy compared to most SNES games.

I finished Return of The Jedi when I was a kid. I don't remember it being exceptionally hard, but I guess I did spend a lot of time on it. The last level was tricky, though. The fact that it was an epileptic's nightmare, a high-contrast pixelated 3D tunnel (the tunnel leading into the Death Star's main reactor), didn't help either. Also I had hard time with the Emperor as well, he kept destroying the floors with his Force lightnings and dropping me to my death. I once asked myself (and my dad who was watching), "What button do I have to press to turn to the Dark Side?"
Darth Vader was easy, though. He kept using the same repetitive lightsaber patterns over and over. It looked pretty cool, but it was so predictable. I always thought he was a cool boss though, just because it was the only lightsaber vs lightsaber fight in the game.
Assuming that this is one of the Star Wars games you're talking.

Many more than I'd like to admit. Some notables, though, are God of War II, Kingdom Hearts, and (gasp!) the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, the last of which I'm rectifying as soon as I finish EarthBound.

Ohhh boy,
Legend of Zelda: Majoras Mask. (N64)
Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. (SNES)
God of War: Chains of Olympus (PSP)
Conker: Live and Reloaded (Xbox)
Brute Force (Xbox)
Morrowind (Xbox)
Resident Evil 4 (GameCube)
Mortal Kombat (SNES)
Star Fox (SNES)
Gears of War (360)
Red Steel (Wii)
Mario Galaxy *Completely, I beat the Story* (Wii)
Most of those are for frustrating reasons, but a few like Red Steel is because it simply sucked ass balls.

"Bugs Bunny: Rabbit Rampage" for the SNES...
Gotta be one of the fucking hardest games I have ever played...
"Clay Fighters" for the SNES...
That game scared the fucking shit outta me...
"The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask" for the N64...
Don't tell me I'm a loser. You either had a gameshark or used a guide to have figured that game out...
"Wario Land" for the GB...
It just got boring...
"Frogger" for the PC...
THAT GAME IS IMPOSSIBLE TO BEAT... but insanely fun.
Thas bout it.

ok, wait? you finished DMC 3, but couldn't beat 4? unless you had the special edition for DMC 3, you have no excuses as to why you couldn't be DMC4. my friend gave up on 3, and he let me borrow it to see if i could beat it. it is proving very challenging, but i will prevail

Hitman 2
- love it, but couldn't get use to the controls for some reason.
Ghostbusters (NES)
- 2 decades later, still failing horribly.

Maybe: Elite-Beat agents?
That game is more of a memory game than a beat game the harder it gets. It's ridiculous, you make one or two mistakes and YOU'RE DONE. And they constantly try to shift things around in a weird way so that you'd not actually trying to keep the beat, you're playing "look for the next number" bullshit mindgames.
Fuck that game's engine is a piece of donkey dick. The art/concept is AMAZINGLY COOL though. So it's like a reverse-guitar hero in a way.

I just used cheats in them.
The last level I could actually do easily. I ruled at the space levels in those games, but the platform parts were IMPOSSIBLY HARD.
How the fuck did you beat the emperor? That dude is INVINCIBLE.

Final Fantasy X-2 is really easy. Just come to my userpage and ask me any questions about it. But I do have a problem of my own. I can't finish Need for Speed Prostreet. So Anyone who wants to let me know that they will help me. Send me a PM and I will get back to you.
Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy X- series are great! (Click on the links to see a picture of the game)

Star Wars : Shadows of the Empire ( N64) WAY TOO HARD, DIE.
Holy shit! IG88 and that sewer level were a fucking nightmare! I don't know if it was because it seemed hard all those years ago or not, but those levels bugged the crap out of me, and IG88 used to freak me out. I did, however, beat that game, but those two things are the only things that I really remember from it.

Beyond Good & Evil, I never beat the last boss. That whole 'reversing the controller' bit just threw me off.
Half Life Episode 1, I got a glitch and something didn't trigger, so I thought fuck it, and gave up and started EP2 instead.
Far Cry, I just got fed up with THOSE FUCKING TRIGENS
etc
etc
I don't have a great track record when it comes to completing games honestly.

Oh, I didn't finish a lot of games.
Beyond Good&Evil: at some point I just didn't know where to go, so I just lost interest. It's a great game though, too bad it wasn't a commercial succes.
Final Fantasy X-2: Just quit after I beat Shiva, no particular reason.
Van Helsing: Dunno, it just plain sucked.
Resident Evil Outbreak file #2: My parents bought it once, played 1 level, then lost interest.
Yeah, I lose interest pretty quick. If the game is good enough, I usually finish it.
Meh.

I never give up on a game. Maybe I don't play it for some time (ie years), but my main goal is to complete every game that I own (and by "complete" I mean I want to see the Credits. Not like, complete it 100%).

Advance Wars 1+2 (Memory saving issues) and Most RPG's Including the MMORPG World of Warcraft
Because it either became extremely confusing OR it ended up becoming a "Grind Quest".
I'm trying to work up the motivation to compleate the first Fire Emblem that reached the UK after my friend DELETED my data when I was on mission 29 WITH NO DEATHS! NONE! I've forgiven him but I'm still pissed off about it.

FF5, FF6, FF8, FF9, Shining Force Neo, All Pokemon games (can never get surf or fly making the game boring or impossible), that *Dragon Warrior* game for the Wii as I was always running out of batteries (This turns your bats into Kenny from South Park) or the golem boss in the forest (Very early in the game) kept on killing me and thats only the ones I DO remember! There are so many that I've gave up on or just never got back to it's not even funny anymore
Blades of the Daemonium, Fall and strike my foe, DEATH BLADES. Hm. Oh Mighty Heavens, grant me thine aid to smite my foe, I'm faster than light, DASH AND SLASH.
