It would make some slight since say if you looked zoomed in closely enough that there's a Robot of some kind. and it's definately not gundam by anymeans.

It is Commander Keen. Spefically those sprites are from Commander Keen IV and newer games. The older ones had different type of sprites. The first game was released back in 1990, so it is already 20 years old series. Supposedly the games were rereleased became avaible on Steam back in 2007.

Fun fact: The creators of Commander Keen also made Doom and Quake.
