Well lol, the concept of something like that is good, but the fact that Groups like the Kitty crew and others have growing numbers, it's just like people figure, "hey, can't beat them, might as well join them!" I tried to join a crew several months ago to somehow stop the influx of KK material, but the leader just left without a word. At least the KK hasn't been spamming lately though.

I guess we just have to do our best to do what we can on our own, right now I'm watching Rage's like a hawk lol (I hate having a garbage whistle).

The best idea is to avoid leveling up to Private until you've gotten back to Normal. That way, you won't be rejected from the EGB once you've attained their main requirement. That is, if you're interested in the EGB in the first place.

In other news, I suppose that some of you have heard the news about the Star Syndicate's new trojan? Yeah, there's been a big stink on General about people downloading a fake game called 4chan Fandango, installing it, and then getting a virus that floods the desktop with Star Syndicate .fla files, redirects every website to the NAACP site, and throws in a keylogger for good measure. The newest creation from the people who brought you AAEN, Dailytoons, timebombed scripts, and thousands of hacked accounts!

I just meant as in, With some other groups, You get labels from within the group with whatever you are, Like Sergent, Captain etc. So I was just wondering whether it worked like that here, or if the badge was the only way to get ranked as something.

Hey guys, I heard that tomorrow is the Kitty Krew day, is this true?

If so, I'm not looking forward to it. This would be my first one since I joined NG, and I can only imagine that it's a spammy shitstorm of epic proportions. I could be wrong, but I can see tomorrow being one hell of a bad day on the Portal.

Well idk if it is either, but were you here for the so called Camel Day? That was horrible. I blammed everything with the name Camel in it, they had to have put through something like 20 or more spam flashes. I gained a lot of blam points the day when Wade deleted them all lol.

If it is Kitty Crew day, it'll be a blam fest :P

I've never experienced one either and from what I know of the Kitty Krew, I'd say your prediction of a shitstorm seems fairly accurate.
The only possible non-shitty side I'm seeing is a chance for a decent number of blam points.

But therin lies the problem. How does so much spam get passed on NG? Quite often through mass voting. Therefore what is stopping those same spammers from having a field day tomorrow? Tomorrow is going to be a horrendous day for mass voting (almost as bad as Clock Day will be).

Think about it, odds are one of two things will happen:
1) The majority of NG mass vote 5 on everything, resulting in dozens of spam submissions surviving judgement.
2) The bad rep of the KK results in users voting 0 on everything. True, this stops the spam submissions from passing, but the few good ones that are submitted get unjustly washed away too.
It's quite a conundrum, isn'tit.

I'm completely against automatically 5ing or 0ing a submission, but sadly a lot of NG users are not. All I'm going to do is vote as normal, on the merits of the submission. Granted, it may make no difference tomorrow, and the promise of easy blam/protection points may be too strong, but I'll do my best to stay honest. Then at least I'll have a clear conscience.

But that's the funny thing. If they spam the portal, like I said about Camel Day, Wade will just remove all the offending flash. Idk if that means the people that blammed the submissions get points, but either way, the spam hopefully will be gone.

Either way, the KK is neither as big nor as popular as the CC so I don't think that the mass 5's will be that bad.

They're even worse then the CC, at least I've seen about 10 decent submissions, but I've seen 0 quality KK flash.

Actually, I think a campaign like that is a great idea. We need people to understand that their votes do count for something and that if everyone tried, we could keep all the trash out of the portal.

See, now was that so hard? But seriously, I think this is a good idea, but if you're going to make a post about this, then you need to for sure put one in General. Because most of the people in C&C are probably smart enough to realize that the spam can and should be blammed. General, not so much.

Wade made a thread like that before and I got a hell of a lot of blam points for about a week as he "helped" blam the spam submissions with us as they came through making everyone else think they were doing it on their own. We then started to 0 all the spam that came through the portal, but after a week it ended and everyone went back to there protecting ways. If you make a thread like that several things will happen. It will get ignored, locked/deleted, and/or people will just flame it. Let people like Wade stick to things like that.

What a way to celebrate my last (or at least I think it is) day as a probie: I've finally gotten back my Normal whistle! It only took a month of flagging over 300 reviews correctly. If I'd stayed as Bronze instead of falling into that trap that wrecked my whistle I could be Gold or Deity by now.

Ah well, at least I'm back in action!
