Wow i just read back through the last few pages and found out that this got locked. And i read the new rule guidlines, just to let you guys know. And i am still voting on underjudgement submissions, just not that often. I also have to admit that i rarely come here, But ya, lets keep this thread alive, cause it good, and actually benefits the ng community.

If it really was a resubmission then it would've ideally been flagged instead and the author punished accordingly. But since it got blammed I can't confirm this. At least it didn't pass into the Portal probably because of its alleged crappiness. Can anyone say double fail? ;)

Mich. You know your not suppose to just post bad flash here. Even if you carefully worded it in a way that it didn't look like it's against the rules it still is, in fact, against the rules to do that because it is just as bad as saying: " BLAM THIS GUYS!"

I didn't post it because it was bad. I posted it because it looked like a potential swap out. It wasn't straight malicious, but it still showed all the warning signs. And it wasn't just as bad as saying "BLAM THIS GUYS" because I told people to go vote on that flash fairly. Just letting everyone know about its presence. Damn Spiffy, we're getting all kinds of shit today huh! Haha.

Just to make it clear guys, there's a clear difference between posting a flash in here for some reason, and posting a flash in here and saying BLAM THIS or WHISTLE THIS.

Always remember that whatever you post, you allow other users to use their better judgment in deciding what they want to do about the flash. This usually means including evidence accompanying a flash that breaks the rules instead of just saying it breaks the rules.

We do not want to promote or condone mass voting or whistling whatsoever, that is clearly against the rules.

michelinman was just warning us to keep an eye out for that flash, as he thought in his better judgment that it would possibly be file swapped.

One thing to note in cases of file swapping, more often than not, those will be an author's first submission, that looks pretty decent. So always watch for newly submitted account, and try to google the flash, because more often than not it is stolen from some dark corner of the internet.

but on the note of what you posted. Well you never flat out said. Look out it might be swap out. You just posted it and said to vote on it's quality. So I was confused over why you would post it here if you just thought it was crappy. It was just spam anyway.

Nah he just pointed out there was another flash by the same guy, and that it might be worth our time to vote on it based on it's quality, which is what we should all do.

I'd keep my eye on this flash. It's this guy's first flash, and seeing as he has not leveled up yet, it really seems too good to be true that one man would devote himself to NG like this. Yeah. It does look somewhat suspicious. I recognize that guy from the WI/HT? forum though. We directed him to the flash forum where he made this thread asking for help on getting his submission submitted. I don't think he made this flash just to be a part of NG. The reason he was thankful for NG members was the help he got through the forums in getting his submission up. Good eye though TP.

I kinda felt the same way at first, but I decided to give the guy the benefit of a doubt. I mean, it's not a terribly awesome flash to begin with.

Oh well, as it seems, my argument is invalid. Spammers would not ask for any help on NG whatsoever; that would be building the community they are bent on destroying. Seems like a legit attempt.

Well I don't know who "Deleted" is. So that's probably why I thought it sounded like I thought it did in the first place.Your right about going to the forums for that but nah. This topic is old anyway. Let us go on about another potentially abusive thing. ; )

Oh. also to Spiffy. It would be very hard to monitor the business of the portal with out some program tracking how many flashes go into the portal at a specific time. If we had that then we could let it monitor the portal for a couple of weeks or even a month and then compile the data. I think Tom might have such a program just for the hell of it. You might want to ask him if he does and if he does then ask him for the data.

Hmm...I don't know. He asks you to download a suspicious file called V-cam. I know it's an actual thing but I wouldn't trust what he asks to download. I don't have flash so I wouldn't know if his script would work or not. If it does then he's probably legit. If it doesn't then he either A. Accidentally messed it up. or B. Had know intention of it working and that file he asks to download has a virus attatched to it. I checked his profile. He seems ok. He's been here for some months and he's voted. not to mention he has some art and he spiffed up his user page. He seems innocent enough. But only time will tell.

Portal Guard keeps a good log of all flashes that are UJ coming in. All you'd have to do is make a log of all the times that a UJ flash came in and then see which hours had the most come in. The only thing is the portal is subjective. On weekends, the times would be a lot different than on weekdays, things like that. If someone was interested in keeping track of when UJ submissions were coming in, Portal Guard is the way to go though.

I'll keep that in mind. Maybe if I really have nothing to do I'll try to figure something out. Then we can have a working schedule that shows the busiest times. We pretty much know when those are, but having a specific showcase might be interesting.

The thread in question is here. liljim came in and posted a graph about the NG peak times. It seems that its more active around 2PM - 6PM NG time.

So yeah, that's from an admin. I would take his word for it ;)

If not you could just PM him and ask him for the peak times. Say your decompiling a list of all the peak times of NG and was wondering if you could have some screenshots to help you of how busy it is on the weekdays.

Not sure what to think of this. When one does a first flash, it is terrible, and usually a movie. This author has submitted his "first flash", and it seems to be really good, but also on kongregate:
