That's sort of a bad sign. That means that almost everything is passing if you see a sea of green and blue. It's not near Clock Day proportions, but it's sure as hell a clear sign that this is summer time.

I think once it's clear that the shit storm is over and the thread is going in a positive direction people will always come back. I think, if we can learn from this, it may be a good thing the NGPD went through this.

Yea, that made no sense, I agree with Sheizenhammer. If everything crappy was passing, there wouldn't be a sea of blue, cause they'd pass with low scores.

I love when Wade goes on a spam deleting spree, I get a bunch of extra blam points all at once. Makes my week.

On a good, IRL note, I only have one final left to go, and I already got two Bs on two of my classes for the term. I'm hoping for an A in tomorrow's class, and the other two I don't care, as long as I pass.

We spot out abusive and malicious flashes. We warn each other of spam flashes and keep up to date on flashes on the portal. If we see a bad flash then we report it here. We work as a team to clean up the portal from incoming flashes!

Oh lawd, I seem to have passed out, lol. Well, not really, I just dozed off while I was listening to Korn. I had the weirdest dream, like I was on Newgrounds, but my account had all these crazy stats and I had like 50 million blam points and all I had to do was poke the zero button on a flash and I would get another blam automatically. XD

Coming from a retired troll, if you really do find every single one of the people you're annoying to be an idiot, or otherwise piss you off themselves, it can be very funny to see that people are falling for your traps, but most (not all, I actually have respect for two or three of them) Newgrounds trolls target everyone, rather than just the people who are naturally annoying and/or detract from whatever community that is, which means that everyone have to suffer for their actions.

Also, about all this talk regarding the FF getting quite bad, is this all true, or are people making a mountain over a molehill? Last time I was really active in the portal, they showed that they were putting a bit of effort into their Flashes, and I found them all hilarious.

I can agree with Mike in the sense that people do go over board with the spam thing. They complain that the spammers should be banned from their IP's and such, but just think of it this way....Do you ever really see a spam flash once it has gone off the front page of the portal? NO.

You only really view or see them if you go and find them or someone links to you to them.

See, if you all could follow Lizz's attitude about spam flashes, we would be so much better off. Because all these guys care about is attention, and I'm sure mike will tell you, they only care for attention, good or bad, because that's what they do this for. So if we just vote and move on without paying more attention to them, we are the better off for it because we don't fall into the feeding trap.

Yup. That's the way to get rid of spam in my opinion. Well not get rid of it but if we didn't pay any more attention to them, like you say, just view, vote and move on then the spammers will feel neglected of the attention they are receiving because.....They aren't getting any.

That's why I disagree with reviewing a spam flash for the following reasons:
~ Its a waste of time, I mean the flash is just going to get deleted anyway and so will your review.
~ It won't help the author of the flash because they don't listen or even look at the reviews to take in their advice. They just copy and paste the same old thing as a reply to every review....Well MOST of the time they do.
~ Its just feeding the fire. Because people are reviewing their flashes, they are giving them the good or bad attention they want, so they will continue making the flashes just to piss everyone off.
~ Finally, I don't know how I COULD make a review, because some of the flashes are that bad there is really no point.

*Sigh* Unfortunately, no-one ever listens to me, and people still review the flashes, they still give attention to the spammers and they STILL are the reason why spam is appearing on the portal.

Whatever happened to the portal mods? Who are they? How do I get into them? Just questions I have always wanted to ask about them. I've heard of them but never got onto the subject of actually asking about them.

Also, while I do like the idea of portal mods for the pruposes of removing file-swaps and/or obvious cases of portal abuse which the judgement filter has a hard time stopping, I don't think such an idea could be extended to removing any particular kind of flash, just for its content, without betraying NG's own ethos: Everything, by Everyone.

Yeah, Clock Day turns the Portal into spam central. It's maddening to see that good flashes get ignored, and bad ones rained down upon with praise they don't deserve, and as a bonus, those unworthy pieces of shit manage to get awards and whatnot. It's not just a crisis consisting of rapidly consuming bandwidth, it's a crisis of appreciating quality flashes, rather than quantity flashes.

Most of the flashes submitted on Clock Day would not pass on any other day on Newgrounds, so I think that it sucks that on August 15, people permit themselves to have such low standards and to completely ignore the consequences of their actions. Don't get me wrong, I love the Clock Day celebration, and I appreciate that they are a part of the history of Newgrounds, but I am disappointed about all the shit that goes on.

Of course it would take up more than 50 gigabytes, just look at all the submissions on Newgrounds. There's enough that even if each one was only one KB, they would probably equal hundreds of GB, and that's not counting all the users, blogs, forums, threads, and other features NG offers.

All problems seem to arise when people combine to do something illegal OR when one person makes many users.

So I suggest two things.

1. Have ways to implement a system for one person to have one user. Instead of having a plethora of alts.

2. Have very efficient report buttons and voting systems for videos that have gotten through the portal. This if spam gets through it can be dealt with much more quickly and if a video is border lining it, the vote system will show it's bad and people will avoid it.
