Well, the time has come. The dog-eat-dog world of the EGB is upon me. Yes, that's right, I have become a Private.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my 4-and-a-bit months here (I joined on December 21st 2008), and shouldn't think that this superiority of rank will stop me coming back and making a fool of myself plenty more times.
I would like to think that I have achieved many things here. Well, I've certainly made new friends. Also, I have only missed out on the Top 5 Gainers list once, and that was because I was away the whole week. And, to top it all off, on the 18th of February, 2009, I made my first NGPD Roster, and have been doing them ever since, bar a few times that I was busy.
So anyway, thank you very much, Newgrounds Police Department. I genuinely believe that you have shaped how I act on Newgrounds more than any other thread. Some of you may remember when ZekeySpaceyLizard ranted about the NGPD here. Unfortunately, his post seems to have been deleted, but Lizzardis quotes most of it in his reaction. Anyway, in my response to his comments, I wrote a fairly poignant piece about the aims of the NGPD, or at least, I thought it was poignant. I would like to repeat some of it now, as it remains very true.
At least are doing something to help Newgrounds, even if it is a tiny bit. We may be only taking baby steps, but at least they're baby steps in the right direction. NGPD isn't about what we're doing, or what impact we're having, it's about what we're standing for: a perfect Newgrounds. This will never be achieved. The spammers, flamers and trolls will always be one step ahead of us, just like real life. No matter what measures we take, the world will still be full of hatred, war and crime, and that's one of the facts of life. But even if we get one abusive flash deleted, we'll have done something.
So, to sum up, thank you, Tails, Mike, and all the other NGPD members, for the best 4 months of my NG life.
