Runescape

What's your thoughts on Runescape? I think it's a very fun and unique game if played correctly (played correctly meaning turning public chat off most of the time). It's most enjoyed when playing with a friend.

What I don't like are all the guys that are like this:

"haha nub"
(then you pwn them at mining the gold)
"nub >:("
Then they say again:
"I need 5 more gold. Gimme some then I'll leave"
You say:
"Haha like I'd give that to you after you've called me a noob"
"shut up"

I mean, some guys should play with common sense. That's why its wise to turn public chat off and only chat to your friend while playing (in my opinion). That's how I get my fun out of the game.

I also hate it when people say "Plz. Help me. Im lonely" and they bug you for months. Another solution to that, turn public chat off. ;)

So, how do you get your fun out of it, or why do you dislike it?

haha yeah. I have other things in my life and could never really get that addicted to it even though I find it very fun... some people are on like 24/7 though. And yeah, 65% of the community - very immature.

Haha, both Jagex and the autoers really fucked up this game. Taking out gift-giving, merchanting, PKing, and almost anything else that could allow autoers to prosper really messes it up.

Thats the fun in runescape, ruining 12 year old lives. By stealing the stuff, scamming them or even shouting abuse at them. Thats all I did when I reached level 101. Got bored and ruined peoples lives.

The max used to be 126-7 but I think they raised it recently to 130 or something.

I used to play Runescape for about 4 months. It was addictive really and a bit fun. All the interactions, double teaming on monsters, going out in the wilderness with a friend just to search around and for the excitement when you see a level 100 puremage and you quickly switch worlds. Getting old bones there, it was pretty fun.

Then, I kind of quit, first, my computer slowed down and the game was unbearably laggy. Second, It got extremely repetitive and Jagex, being that asshole that he is, only updated "member" shit.

Now, I hear that he took about a whole bunch of features which is just plainly stupid. PKing? God Dammit. Also, the community, they were not the cheeriest people you would ever meet. Runescape is an okay game, just DO NOT get addicted to it.

Never? I've noticed they usually appear around late at night, actually. The time of day is probably irrelevant, but that's what I noticed.

For some reason most of newgrounds has a knee-jerk reaction to runescape. I like it personally.

A lot of random crap happens in that game. There's:

-little 10-year-olds begging you for money and items
-other little 10-year-olds that item scam you
-people that appear to be playing while filming their actions via some sort of screen-capture camera (some guy was was talking to himself in Varrock, saying "Welcome to Varrock" and "It's a large town in Runescape, with many different shops"...)
-player weddings in the churches
-other players that give you free stuff (some guy gave me 100K for no reason once... likely he wanted to quit)
-freaking DANCE-OFFS in town squares (glimpsed one once in Falador, everyone was doing 'dance' emotes... -.-)
-supposed "singers" typing out the lyrics to "Total Eclipse of the Heart" by Bonnie Tyler

THAT'S why I smartened up and turned public chat off, then slowly weaned off it. It wasn't fun running around a pixelated, badly-textured environment, being pestered by noobs about "were i g0t tose awsom boots"...
