Now i want to lay my voice over a beat, but i need to be able to hear the beat when I'm recording so i know when to come in. i have head phones and all that so the mic only picks up my voice. I just need to know how to play a track and record at the same time. Thanks for the help guys.

just import the track into audacity and under your preferences in the edit tab, click play other tracks while recording.
It should be under audio I/O

Im not sure what you mean by this? tho i will still throw out a few ideas. first try to install the software witch you can find HEAR. now once you install the software click the desktop icon. after that to start using audacity go to "project" > "import audio" > and pick some audio that you want to master or tweak. then hi lite what you want to tweak and go to "effects" and mess around with the different options. i hope that helped if not try asking a more specific question next time.
