The only recent Sonic games I like are the Rush series, Adventure 2: Battle and Unleashed.

I grew up with the first three sonic games (+ knuckles). Sonic was THE best thing then, I still love playing the classics :)

Sonic Unleashed looks pretty good I think, maybe it'll be a saving grace?

I haven't played SA1 (I know, terrible) I did have a wee shot of it on the dreamcast back when it was pretty knew, and I completed Sa2 battle on the GC. It was pretty good except for a few bits *cough*treasurehunting*cough*

When I got Brawl I was determined to get Sonic and only went him :D Till i got toon link :P

It's sad but it's true. Sega will eventually come out with a new Sonic game, but look at what's happened already. It's safe to say he's dead.

The last Sonic Game I bought was Sonic Adventure 2 and SOnic DX. I liked both of them a lot, but I never tried any of the ones after that because they looked really bad.

Sonic Unleashed may be a real saving grace. though with me any sonic game past the ol' 1, 2,3 AND knuckles. Can go suck my balls. SSBB really had sonic as for a ripoff. Jesus what kind of game would include sonic and snake (A NINTENDO GAME) My point is that Sonic is failing like this LOLPWNED (BUT not for me (wink) )

In my opinion I think it'd be awesome if Knuckles reunited with the Choatix for one more mission. That'd be so cool!

Man, I grew up on Sonic. The Nintendo Gamecube Sonic DX and Adventure 2: Battle werent as good as Sonic, Sonic2, or Sonic and Knuckles, they werent bad for the new generation.

I only enjoy the Sega Genesis Sonic games. I remember playing Sonic 1, 2, and 3... They were just so fun! The replay value on them were very, very high! Then Sonic 3-D Blast came out and I was astonished how awesome it looked (on a Sega Genesis!!!). I played that one a lot, it sure was great....
Then the 2000s came and ruined everything that was good about Sonic. He was only a good 90s character, imo.

Oh, and the reason that the new sonic suck (by most peoples standards) is the same reason why crash or spyro now suck. It is being made by a different team. Crash and Spyro were made by Naughty Dog and Insomniac (respectively) and are now owned by activision. Sonic stayed Sega, but most of the original game designers (most notably the guy that designed Sonic: Naoto Oshima) left Sega to form Artoon, an independent game company. Naoto has not been part of a Sonic game since Sonic Adventure.

Yeah, i watched a review on the newest one that came out... that Sonic Unleashed? The running around is fun, and still exciting to run fast, but when you slow down with the new werehog twist it lacks its fun. That's what i liked about the old 2d sonic, was that you could just run along and pop little robots, gather the choas emeralds and go supersonic and cause even more seizures. Sonic spinball was really cool too, i have that for both the system and the hand-held system.

Sonic is different because it's still Sonic Team. It doesn't matter if the original guys aren't there anymore, the new ones would carry on tradition.

Naoto fucking perfected the Sonic formula. Sonic CD wasn't even made by Sonic Team, it was by a separate team and Naoto ran it. Sonic CD is debatably the best Sonic game ever made, and probably one of the greatest platformers of all time.

All of his recent 3D games have all sucked I don't get why people still go ape shit over them everytime a new one is revealed, it always ends in disappointment.

I have come to accept that the cycle is true. At first, the new game looks fucking awesome, and then the new shitty gimmick is announced with the new character(s).

What I don't get is that there were topics that basically said "Hey, new Sonic game coming out! Man I miss the old Genesis games blah blah blah".

He's talking about in the comic's. When it came to the game, they made a new character that resembled him. Maybe his name is Dr. Eggman Robotnik?, I haven't looked into this much, but i'm just saying. I do know that he's been called eggman for a long time, and Dr. Robotnik for a long time. I do recall the sonic character in the old sonic tv show (the good one....not that new sonic x crap) sonic would call him eggman and Dr. Robotnik, so i don't know quite where it connects
