I do remember that Bully had some controversy about it with parents who thought the game was going to cause kids to develop violent tendencies (as if any realistic FPS would never do such a thing) or be a simulator for bullying kids and that it would spawn a new age of Columbine related incidents. And all of that was before the games content were even made public.

Turns out you were mostly helping the kids who were being bullied and it was mostly satire on high school and the groups of students in it. Man you gotta love the loyal Fox News fanbase

I play FPS alot and my parents used to think that those game made me more agressive, because when they come bothering me while I'm gaming I am superpissed off. But now they see that I react like that with every game genre or even when I'm really working and get sucked into something.

What makes me mad is that the conservative media makes big deal anything that slightly involves blood, gore and nudity. E.g.: Fox went on a rampage about Mass Effect whilst noone ever really played the game and has seen the "controversial" scene where you have sex with the woman and they admitted this.

The Witcher had some controversy, sadly all the nudity is covered in he USA version, but decapitations + partial nudity in the form of sex cards is a combination for controversy

I never played Bully, but I heard you could get your character to kiss another guy, which caused some controversy.

I always liked Manhunt actually. It was like Tom Clancy's...Stealth game but it had less gadgets. I always disliked how as soon your were spotted you were fucked which was annoyingly unforgiving. At least in Manhunt you had a chance but if you all-out brawl them, you'd likely die. Then they placed in a few little games like Monkey See Monkey Die that were enjoyable.

I believe you're thinking of Racial cleansing.

I believe you are talking about Ethnic Cleansing. You will never find it in stores so you'll have to order it directly from Resistance Records if you want the game.

These videogames are so controversial in other countries that they are at the point of being banned or heavily edited to tone down the material that is offensive in their country.

The Wolfenstein games for example have been edited to remove all content relating to Nazism in Germany so you can't kill Nazis in the Wolfenstein games so instead they are a different group of villains.

Command and Conquer: Generals is been banned in the People's Republic of China because they see it as demeaning to their military.
