Well, I dont have any real NR1 favourite char, it tends to vary from one day to another, but if I am to play 100% serious I usually choose Ike. For the final stages in subspace I use a group of good aerial fighters, I almost always use both Diddy and pit, especially pit on bosses. And the other modes are for all fighters, and I am just about to clear with all on all-star(BB, Classic and target test1-5 are complete with all, still not done with very hard-intense on the first two. Also barely touched multi-man).
As for controller, definitely GC. I have tried both wiimote and -"- + nunchuck and they just dont feel right. (no reason to buy a classic controller if you have a GCC)

Sonic, Falco, and any forms of Link I think are the most awsome

Snake and either the classic or the game cube controller. The Wiimote just seems to be more difficult and if you've been a fan of SSB then I'm guessing you like the classic controls like I do.

Toon Link. Fast, Projectiles are fun, good return, great smash attacks, and he's super cute.

I can use practically everyone except, for some reason, the original ten (minus Falcon), Pit, and Diddy. I can't actually decide on my favorite. It's a toss-up between Ike, who's insanely strong, and Snake, who's just fun. I really like Meta-Knight as well. Usually, I just use random. I rarely pick my own character.
The gamecube controller is much easier to use, both because I'm actually used to it and because it is much easier to throw items, which I do a lot. Why hold onto a HR bat that can't hit squat when you can just toss it at somebody?

Definitely Ike. You can mess people up with Ike. And he's from Fire Emblem? That automatically makes him cool?

Samus. Samus all the way. either of them are good, tho i prefer the varia suit. Since the epic series began on the N64 i played as Samus (then known as Zap, don't know why tho) and still can't seriously play as anyone else. i have beaten all the prime games and have extensivly read about the others. i started using Samus mainly because i am obsessed with robots, mechs, ect. and saw at the time what i thought to be a robot on the character selection screen and the rest as they say is history. but i am good with the other characters because when they play me they pick my characters because they suck and to me thats seems only fair that they get some advatage but i still end up winning

I use the wiimote+nunchuck combo. started with the gc contoller because i'd been playing melee all the time to prepare for brawl but decided one day to try it out and it felt right for some reason. ya know

Falco all the way. Chain-grabbing a character to the edge, and then followed by a quick spike, makes you feel like and arsehole, but doesn't make it any less awesome

After Falco, it would have to be Mr G&W in all his 2D glory
Olimar with his army of cultists
Toon Link in all his tooniness
and finally the powerhouse that is Ike.

Ike would be my main, followed by Pokemon Trainer and then Captaion Falcon.

my favorits are picacheu,lucas,kirbeand yoshi eventhough yoshi stinks

sonic. and not because he's spammy it's because he is hard to control. i like a challenge when playing.

Wario's my main. Ness and Mr. Game & Watch are also up there. Other characters I like include Dedede, Snake, Pit, and for some reason Bowser. Fox, Link or Toon Link, MetaKnight, DK, Mario, Pikachu... I guess I like most characters besides Zero Suit Samus and Sheik...

God I hate Sheik...

i mostly play as luigi as he has similar moves to mario's exept better. he's also faster & jumps higher than mario. i also like falco, yoshi, sonic, and mr. game & watch. i like most of the other character too but these are just my faves.

i don't really like heavy characters like bowser, king dedede, gannondorf or charrizard that much either, but dedede is fun to fight against as luigi or falco.

Bowser and Wolf. Sometimes I pick Toon Link for the fun of it.
I'd love to use DDD, because he seems like the best character there is, but it's hard to master him.

I use Wiimote+Nunchuck, I feel like such a n00b =/

(also, haven't played Brawl in a while thanks to SFIV... damn)
