Video Game Critique/advice Thread

This thread is for users to share their feelings about video games for any console, of any genre, be they good or bad, so that other users may benefit from their opinions and experience.

Hopefully, this thread will enable users who have bought a certain game to tell other users about it, and help them decide whether or not they should buy the game in question for themselves. If you are planning on buying a game, but aren't quite sure about it, then ask about it here.

If someone asks about a game that you own, please share your experience of that game with them - but try not to give away any spoilers, especially if the game is fairly new. If you are posting spoilers, make sure there is a clear, visible warning.

Have fun, and if you're posting negative comments about a game, please justify them rather than just badmouthing a game for the sake of it.

I personally love the game Warhawk. I don't own a PS3, but my friend (who's a total douchebag for owning everything in the world, technology wise) has it, and I personally love to play it. I've tried Halo 3 online, along with many other shooters, but this one stands out in my eyes. It's just more fun than Halo 3, in my opinion. Maybe it's because I suck at Halo. I honestly don't know. But I get a bit giddy when I play Warhawk. It really made me think of getting a PS3 for a while, y'know, when they bring the prices down.

I haven't played that in a while. Last time I played it was when they did an update to the game. It made respawn times go from 2 seconds to 10. I just stopped playing for a while and focused on other games. I might play it later.

But flying around in a jet is far too much fun, doing all those tricks in the air.

Yeah, yeah. There's a simple solution to that problem. Buy Warhawk 2, of course! I mean, 1 should be in the bargain bin by 2010, right? No biggie. I think.

I bought Super Smash Brothers Melee for £30 last year.

That's full price for a game that was then 6 years old.

I swear to god, Walmart has horrible pricing. It's still $50 for, say, SSBM. Sucks majorly, in my standpoint.

Each WalMart has a different price for the same game (either that or they're lazy).

Kingdom Hearts 2 was $50 for up until last summer at the WalMart near my house.

One that was ten minutes from my friend's house had it at $20 last Spring.

I'd like to get some opinions on Halo 3. I don't own the game myself, but I felt hugely let down by Halo 2, especially after the greatness of Halo: CE.

Is Halo 3 really worth it? I've heard mixed opinions, but as someone who didn't like Halo 2 when compared to the original, is it something that would be up my street, or should I just avoid it?

I have a "should I buy or not" question. I'm still in the midst of a nasty case of what medical professionals call "Brawlitis," but I was thinking about that DLC for Mass Effect. Does anyone have it? Is it worth it?

Are you serious? Do they actually expect to sell this game for that price? I would say that is pretty arrogant of Wal-Mart to sell an old game like that for nearly 50 dollars.
