This is the place to learn!
for starters, there's no unifying light source. it looks like it's lit under the hand, but some parts aren't even shaded.
pick a spot, and make everything look like it's being lit from that source. it helps to think procedurally.
its a good start, but i would have to agree with kernalphage, the shading needs to be more uniform.
if you want the practice take the same pic an recolor it. pick a corner and draw a line from that corner into the center of the pic. that is going to be your reference point for your light source. color and shade form there and show us what it turns out like.
