Ok. so i have this computer and it was being gay so best buy took it and they installed XP on it. Now its just windows xp (SP2, media player edition 05). And i want to create a backup of my pc incase it breaks.

Problem is: that when i go to back it up using the backup utility that comes on xp, and i select my burner drive, it gives me the message:

[The backup file name could not be used.
"I:\Backup.bkf"
Please ensure it is a valid path, or that you have sufficient access.]

I:\ is my burner drive.
The thing is, that it allows me to back it up on removable disks (floppy, flash drives, etc.) but those dont have nealy enough space.

So my question is : "how can i make a backup for system recovery using DVD's? Is there a program that i can download?"

calling my computer manufacturer wont work because they are gay and my warranty expired 1 week ago. best buy is also gay and keeps trying to charge me for stuff even though i have a plan with them.

I tried using the Nero "Create new drive backup" option however, it gives me the message:
["The selected partition is formatted with a system file not supported for reorganizing. This partition cannot be backed using data compression"]
Ok, thats nfine and dandy except that it says without the compression it will require 30 8.5GB DVD's...

Any help at all would be really appreciated thanks

Try using a program called Cobian Backup.

Never used it before though, so I can't tell you how it is. Have a go anyway.

Cobian Backup is a multi-threaded program that can be used to schedule and backup your files and directories from their original location to other directories/drives in the same computer or other computer in your network. FTP backup is also supported in both directions (download and upload). Cobian Backup exists in two different versions: application and service. The program uses very few resources and can be running on the background on your system, checking your backup schedule and executing your backups when necessary. Cobian Backup is not a normal backup application: it only copies your files and folders in original or compressed mode to other destination, creating a security copy as a result. So Cobian Backup can be better described as a "Scheduler for security copies". Cobian Backup supports several methods of compression and strong encryption.

Version 9.1.1.149 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.
