I loved that show. I still have the shows taped on VHS, the card game, the figurines, everything! But my obsession with that has been replaced with D&D.
Demidevimon fucking rocked.

It got real big at my school, but when I moved 20 minutes away, they said they never had a Digimon craze... must have only been select regions, unlike Pokemon, which was crack everywhere.
I always tried to get Teddymon and failed :[

Tai and Matt with Agumon and Gabumon kicked so much ass.
Remember when Wargreymon and MetalGarurumon formed into Omnimon, the most kickass Digimon ever?

It was a complete Pokemon rip-off.

And HOW is Pokemon more popular...?
I loved Digimon, because it actually made sense. And it took place on Earth, instead of some "magical land with fucked up animals". Digimon was all about computers, viruses, and crazy shit like that, thus, it was awesome.
Do what now...?

Even when I was an ignorant six year old, I still hated Digimon for being a pathetic rip-off, which it was.

Like if anyone couldnt agree with that. But i would say some thing about that pokemon but with Zerok on my tail of stealing his name on other sites and games (Sorry!) i would say that he looks like a *****.
Guess what it is.
Plus digimon was only cool before people started wearing shirts about it and all that stuff.Same thing with pokemon the shirts always make it look lame.

Ok kids, time to settle this, i've wanted to say this for years, now my opportunity has come:
Digimon and Pokemon have absolutely NOTHING in common. The only things that were similar was
- the Anime style
- Both cartoons
- Both involved unrealistic creatures
Now, here's where the differences come in, and there are ALOT
- Digimon characters spoke english, Pokemon only said their names
- Digimon took place within a computer program, AND Japan, pokemon...who knows where they are
- Digimon had 7 main characters, pokemon (at the time) had 3
- Digimon creatures were obtained by their owners first, (first episode, the kids met their digimon companions) and each characters had ONE companion. Pokemon used the "catch them" idea, and their owners had several more pokemon creatures
- Digimon made a movie first, and it made sense.
- The Digimon storyline had nothing to do with competitions, badges, catching new creatures, using any sort of device to catch another creature
Now, is there ANYthing i'm missing?
Do what now...?

Why didn't you make a thread about it years ago then? You make some very good points, but at the end of the day, you liking Digimon is just your opinion, and people will have different ideas about what they like better.

True, very true. And i respect other peoples ideas and opinions. But it's one of those things that irks me, when the general public will simply put the "stolen idea" label on things. And, as i just stated, i have proven that, yes, there are similarities, BUT, they are ultimatly, completely different.
They were even on different stations too! WB had pokemon, Fox aired Digimon.
Do what now...?

The pokemon games were a lot better then the digimon ones, so I've always like pokemon more. The digimon show never made any sense to me, but both shows were just cartoons.

Back in the good old days people saw Digmon as just a complete pokemon rip off.
Pokemon was big shit, Digimon didn't fair to well.
