Isn't Elliot also at legal liability for cracking down on prostitution rings and protecting others [namely the one he used] With his legal power?

See that's where I have a problem with it. I don't care if a public official hires a prostitute, gets an intern to speak into the mic under the desk, or anything like that ( and wouldn't care if a woman did it either ) HOWEVER if you get it paid for by funders and/or tax payers... pay for youer own of the clock fun damn it.

Independently he's worth millions, so I don't think he'd even need to worry about or want to tap into the government's money.

I feel that he won't really be too big of a name at all. He seems like he's going to try and tone down everything and just get the budget passed. From what our local papers and the other state legislators are saying about him, he doesn't seem at all confrontational. Even Bruno, who's known to try and stop Spitzer's projects no matter what is on good terms with Paterson.

I feel that after this is all over, there won't be too much press coverage of the NY governorship, even in the state since he doesn't seem like he'd draw headlines.

If anything, they will only need to report on less of a deadlock in the state congress.

Whats even mor eironic about this then simply the fact that he prosecuted and jailed 18 people for running escort services is that this girl who he got busted arranging to meet with WORKED for one of the people he put in jail. Her first manager was arrested and jailed at Rikers Island by Spitzer.

She is a PERFORMER.
