They would never fight but the Sun by far, it is so much bigger than the moon hence capture in its gravity etc then destroy.

Think of it like a martial arts movie or something: The moon is the small ninja-esque guy, the sun is the super buff guy that seems all invincible, but in the long run ends up getting whooped on anyways.
