Hello, Dan here.
Earlier I was reading the reviews on my newest submission. I'm trying to start a new original cartoons series. There have been a lot of mixed reviews, to say the least. One reviewer, though it maybe my fault, nearly pushed me over the edge. They were unsatisfied with not knowing everything in the first episode. I know that from a writers stand point, if you are trying to make a story arch that reveals certain secrets as it goes, you must choose what to show and what not to show in the first act. It's my opinion that what ever is revealed is done so with purpose and should be seen as such. My response to him was lengthy, and probably an over reaction, but I still had been thinking of these ideas for several weeks. The response is below:
"you are one of many that have come to me with these questions. you are uncomfortable with not knowing everything immediately. i think this is why video game parodies are preferred on this site. no one wants to wonder, speculate, or theorize on anything. you don't want to think, you want to watch something that makes jokes about things you already have a firm knowledge on.
This creates a large gap in the community, those attempting to start something original and those who fuel the needs of the impatient viewers. i realize that i have made many parodies, and in a way i regret it. I am sorry for all the people that i stole awards from that made original content, while i created a spoof of something everyone already knows.
Just stay calm and don't shit yourself the next time you see something new, and don't know anything about it."
With that said, I would like to formally apologize to all those that were affected negatively by my parodies. Namely those who produced original content and released it on the day that I had released mine. It's humbling to say that I am coming off as a hypocrite, but I am not making any more video game parodies after my involvement with TSAH3.
Thanks for reading. You can burn me at the stake now if you like.
