(sigh) ok you guys, I'm done for the day, maybe I may put together some stuff to show you but still you haven't answered my question n for that I'm deeply disappointed.
But it is good that you want to know this stuff, I find it good for me to use my knowledge to help people who want help, but really my knowledge is nothing, you have to find out stuff for yourself n you must have the faith to go way further than I could ever take you.
Peace n God bless.

We pointed out that your question was nonsense.
But it is good that you want to know this stuff, I find it good for me to use my knowledge to help people who want help, but really my knowledge is nothing, you have to find out stuff for yourself n you must have the faith to go way further than I could ever take you.
If you provide anything at all convincing then I'll buy it, seriously. You might think I'm bullshitting, but hand on heart, I would love to understand how you think it's factual.
Peace n God bless.
You turned awful patronising and god pushy, after deciding that atheists have some major life issues. Ugh. It's like an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting.

However being athiest, there is no consequences for your actions on earth. No matter how good or bad you are, once you die, thats it.
I'm not trying to start a christian vs. athiest hate-fest, I'm just wanting to know if this is in fact, one of the reasons for being an athiest?
See, there are many different kinds of athiests. I myself just don't believe in religious books that were not in fact made by the supposed lord but by other people. Say the Bible. It was written by Jesus' friends. I also think that the English translations were very false. Of course i believe that if you're good then good things happen to you. But to me, the Bible is just a fairy-tale. No offense.

to Shaggy; by claiming atheists are a product of a horrible life you insulted my family and friends because no matter how terrible the world you are brought up in the love of family and friends will allow you to get by. the only truly horrible life would not be one of poverty or disease but one without caring family and friends, therefore by claiming that i (as an atheist) am a product of a horrible life attacked those close to me as it would imply that i had family and friends that do not care about me and meaning that they are less then decent people.

I don't see why we have to act nice like this. I mean, we all know why exactly Shaggy is saying this.
He simply has to in order to make reality fit his worldview. His religion claims that it alone can bring you true peace to the soul, so he must obviously deny that anybody can be happy unless they desribe to his religion.
To do otherwise would require him to admit that other things than Christianity can give you peace, which would hurt his view Christianity and make him less secure about the afterlife.
It's pretty simple to understand. Behold, I have the second book of Drakim!
---Holy Book of Drakim II---
Drakim is God
If you worship Drakim, you go to heaven
Only Drakim can give your soul peace
------
Now, if one of my followers was to admit that the third line is wrong, because other things makes your life forfilling too, then he would be weakening the book as a whole, and thus weaking his bet on heaven.
This will ofcourse not affect all Christians, as not all Christians belive that the Bible is the perfect word of God.

Sure. I make these books to make a point, not actually make a book itself, but I guess anybody can see that. (I hope)

well if we managed to help Dre-Man (no we did not "convert" him Shaggy et alias) i figure there is a possibility that we can help Shaggy understand why he ticks so many people and correct the problem.

I was going to make you eat your words by showing how some people are beyond our power of help. But....after reading this, I don't think it's necessary ^^;;

I don't understand
What was your first clue? The fact that you want lack of proof to be proof of something that you think exists, or the fact that you don't accept the same argument when dealing with other things, such as goblins, trolls, and intelligent religious NG users.
Prove to me I didn't fuck your mother last night. What, no evidence? No proof that didn't happen? Therefore it MUST be true!!! Mwahahaha!

If it can't be disproved, then apparently a rational person can act like it's true. So phone up his mum and tell her you wanna see her again.
God =/= organised religion, anyway.

Dude, if you don't like it, get the fuck off the topic. People come here because they WANT to talk about this. And don't tell people to kill themselves. Not QUITE sure but I think that goes against the rules of the forum.

I just hate stupidity in all it's forms. Saying no proof= proof is just absurd, read "Remembering Satan" and see how bad that kind of "logic" can affect people.
anywho:
The correct term for how I REALLY feel about religion is "apathy" though......
I like looking at the obscurities and "fun facts" of religions. I don't really care how people classify themselves (or me) outside of that.
Otherwise I don't claim to know what that "something" people call the divine really is, whether it's all in the head or the presence of an unknown force/factor acting on the world. Nor do I really listen to the people that attempt to convince me either way they know the answer, cause frankly, their reasonings always revolve around their personal experiences and don't pan out the same way to me.
I think the nutjobs are funny.
I think the super devout guys are funny.
I think the "missionaries" (idiots who want to convert you) are hilarious.
I think the guys who have zero clue about certain truths (like the Bible doesn't carry over into English completely, because Greek is hard to translate) are downright stupid.
And I think the guys who stick to their guns on what they believe, as well as what they think OTHERS believe are absolute jackasses. The Christians who think atheists would be raping and pillaging because they have no morals without religion, the Christians who think Catholics practice Idolatry, the dumbasses who think Islam is any different from every other religion out there, the douchebags who think they've got it "right" in terms of which religion is more/less fucked up than the others, etc.
Long answer to a short comment but hey, gotta cause some drama, otherwise things get boring.
FLAME ON YOU BATSHIT INSANE THEISTS AND MORALLY DEPRAVED ATHEISTS!!!

I was aiming for the same, not deconvertion. But you obviously see yourself that we'd have more luck deconverting an ant. Some things simply has to be understood from the "inside" because you have barred yourself so much from the outside, in fear of it's evil presence. How are you ever to learn anything non-Christian if you believe that it is the devil's domain?

You might say that christians can do whatever they want and then just repent. There is a way however, where you might be punished for your actions and you cant repent: agnosticism.

It's a very likely possibility, however, it'd be more common with once-religious-turned-atheists.
To be an Atheist from the very start, though, you would still have to acknowledge that other people do believe in God(s), therefore labeling yourself as "Atheist". It still requires you to think about whether you believe in God(s) or not.
However, depending on how you're brought up, there is the very obvious reason, said: "I just don't believe in God."
That's it.
