Morrowdays just sent me an update of the collab with the first few parts in it, LINK. He also says that he is going to fix the intro as he is not particularly fond of it.

It's looking good so far. One thing though, my birds and sun aren't animated. Could this be fixed in anyway?

hmm, possibly. the main problem is that since nick gave me SWF files because yours were flash 9 which I dont use, when you import a swf it shows you every frame as a keyframe in one layer, so using looping movieclips doesnt work, even if we were to edit symbols.
I guess you could save them as flash eight files, but I know you said that the files were at school so if their not accessible then I guess we'll have to use the still images. personally, I do prefer the moving ones, but since the audience hasnt seen the two versions, I dont think non moving birds/sun takes anything away from your part. Its excellent either way.

Sorry, I wasn't even thinking about that. I can get to the files. I'll fix this tomorrow.

this is something I've been working on, what do you guys think? if it feels too busy I might take out the cars or change the lightness/darkness of different objects and such. I dunno, I like it. its a simple masking technique, but in this context I think it works pretty well.

I think the sky should definitely be lighter. not enough contrast to notice the man and what he's doing. I think the cars are fine though.

I agree on the sky. Also, I absolutely HATE that white/brown texture you've used on the poles. It's so damn ugly on small pieces... wait, it's ugly on any piece... I would absolutely love you if you removed that from your movie ;)
BTW, if anyone needs a green cardboard texture, I've scanned in one myself.
thanks guys, I lightened the sky and slowed it down a bit and made it so it goes perfectly straight instead of slightly down, and vincoid, I removed the brown/white poles and replaced them with ordinary cardboard poles, I agree with you now, it does work better. :)

I still kinda think the sky is too busy. It's very distracting. It seems really really slow now too, but I don't know if that will feel different with music. If you wouldn't mind, I'd like to give the sky in this movie a shot. Would you be ok with that?

marcy, in the first post, we mentioned that nick and I are going to add sky textures in the background of anyone's part left white, but now it seems as though the sky in my part just there is to busy so depending on how it sounds with audio, I might change it to another pattern.

looking good, I dont think the buildings need to be blurred though, and when the guy walks down the hill he gets way too small and then just disappears. its looking nice though, I like the doctor seuss like trees. :)
Jake, your fla. It doesnt make any sense! on the stage it just shows the big "sky" rectangle with a blue tint, and in the library all the symbols are there, and when you export it as an SWF it runs fine, but when I put it into the master file it just shows that blue rectangle for sky, because you dont have the movie nested in that movieclip or anything. so I dont know whats going on there and I think it'd be simplest to just use the one without the animated birds. You did everything right, but at some point something got a little weird.
The strangest thing is that when you watch it in a SWF its fine, so I dont know whats up at ALL.

good stuff kyle, I still dont like how he fades away though. try making a new layer below the hill and then copying him from the above hill layer to the below hill layer and tweening him down from there. I had to do something like that in 'drear/happy infestation', its simple, but it involves an extra layer or two. Its the part where he goes along the three hills.
