Oh, read Powers dear, Powers is friggin awesome fun stuff. Two homicide detectives investigate super powered related murders, it's also got a lot more layers then that, meditation on celebrity, responsibility, power, mythology, cool shit like that. Not a terribly deep over your head kind of thing, really fun.

Fun is the word when it comes to Powers really. Good cop styled stories in a super powered world.

I would advise against expecting anything similar to sin city though. Just a warning.

I couldn't read Sin City.

The art style hurt my eyes to the extreme.

I read the first few pages, and gave up.

Another good cop based super hero comic is Top 10, though it didn't go for long.

I thought the style worked really well for scenes that emphasised violence. The inverse black and white shots were beautiful, but for the rest of the story, while I liked it, I can see where you're coming from.

Franks Millers are style can be confusing. The best example of this is his early work Ronin (also being made into a movie) which is a great book but half the time I had no idea what I was supposed to be looking at.

Yeah, Miller can definitely get a bit muddy at times, particularly during the 80's. But Lyn Varley and Klaus Jansen could always even him out, Klaus is a master though so that wasn't hard. :)

Just realized, I have a bunch of Endless crew hats lying around here, give me an hour or so and I'll look through the box and see what colors I have, would anyone be interested in one? I'm positive there's enough here to give to at least the folks that have posted and joined the relaunch here.

Hey Stafff, is that fight still going in the vs. topic at the forum? The Bender vs. Starman one? Or is it over already? I always forget the bleeding rules about how many days it's supposed to be active for.

Well the rule was three days when we had more active people but since we're getting new people that might have to start again. But I do think it would only be fair to give these new people a chance to vote. So 2 days left people, get on the endless, read the rules and vote for who you think will win.

Guess the blatant pandering not so good for the topic's health. Lol.

So I see Millar and Hitch's second FF issue has hit. Betting pool now on how long they can keep this on schedule before Hitch causes some lateness?

Oh, for Hellboy fans, you should check out the new "Emerald Hell" novel. Hellboy heads to The Bayou to confront an un-dead preacher and the curse he's inflicted on the Nail family. So far, so good, and it's pretty creepy stuff.

Almost tempts me to pick it up.

Millar did great things with The Ultimates.

And now, Loeb has fucked up that entire series. Good Batman writer, but god, how could you go so wrong?!

You had hats made? That's quite cool. What are the chances that one of them could get sent to the UK?

Picked up a few installments of Civil War the other day. Spent my history lecture on Monday reading the first installment of it, and when I got home spent time I should have been using to revise and write essays reading the rest. I am now horirbly behind in all my work.

However, the book shop on my uni campus sucks. They have a section devoted to graphc novels and they have, as far as I can tell, every single graphic novel of the Sandman ever produced...except the first one...I was rather annoyed at this as I wanted to pick up a copy, and as I have Waterstones card and buy stuff there quite frequently, I could have probably gotten it for free using the points on the card. Not to be however, so I settled with Civil War.

Reading Civil War has made me want to pick up some Punisher stuff though. Sadly I'm now broke...so it'll have to wait for a bit : (

I just tried to sign up to the Endless BBS and it came up with a little box saying ' Spam bot registration attempt' or something along those lines.

Help...please?

My bad, I forgot to mention that part. Because it's a phpBB forum spambot attacks happen quite often, I installed a mod to prevent it. To sign up to our forum, please leave your form BLANK, filling in information makes it think your a spambot trying to whore links and such. I realize this is inconvenient, but the alternative is for us to have no BBS at all. Please bear that in mind and I apologize to anyone else who had this problem.

PM me or let me know in the topic here if your having any further forum problems. Considering I've sent Endless hats as far as Australia, it's no big to do international shipping, I just need an address to send to, and then I can go to the post office, do the customs crap, and have it on the way.

Awesome!

You want anything towards it in terms of cash to pay for the shipping, or indeed the cap itself?

Why is it you can never find cables for electronics when you need them?

On my phone at the moment I have a picture ( or two) of a large amount of comics I have inherited ( they belonged to my Dad). They came in a box roughly half my height ( I'm pushing 6 ft tall) Haven't been through them properly, but my step dad says he spotted Issues 2,3,4,5 and 6 of the Silver surfer, and it wouldn't shcok me f there's a number 1 in there somewhere. There's some early X men stuff along with an assortment of all kinds of different comics from both Marvel and DC. Hell, some of them are from back before Britain decimalised the currency, as I saw a few Nick Fury comics priced at ' 10d' ( D being the old symbol for pence).

I would post the pics, but I can't locate the cable I need to transfer them at the moment. Will post them as soon as I can, and if I get round to it, the full lsit of what is actually there in the collection. I think it has the potentia to be worth a hell of a lot of money.

So I've started reading Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, again (for like... the 3rd or 4th time).

It's really good, but the lack of colour means that my attention delegates.

I just can't figure out quite what's going on in the action sequences some times.

But it does still have a good story, and it is well written.

At the moment my cash situation is a bit tight. So if you're happy to just send it I'm quite happy to accept it for free ; )

I will however, considering the fact you're shipping it internationally, give you a bit of cash for the shipping cost when I have the cash. I'll PM you my address and all that later today/tomorrow.

Ok, I feel like I'm a bit dishonest now. This is in reguard to the latest issue of the Buffy the vampire slayer comic

SPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILER

I was a big fan of the show, both it and angel. Yet I never picked up a copy of the book until I heard that it featured Buffy hooking up with another woman. But all in all said act was done tastfully, no exploitave pictures and it was treated as a reasonable case of a young woman experementing.
All of the familure characters seem like they were on the show so it's good to know that. I might go back and read some more of this to fill in the numerous blanks, Also apparently Dawn is a giant now.

I liked the first Buffy trade I read of the new stuff. I heard about the big deal of the new issue, and I thought it was fine, nothing worthy of insane criticism or anything. I just hope there's consequences here and that usually is the case for the Whedonverse. People don't do things that can or will hurt the other person(s) involved and not have to pay some price for it.

I also read that issue, simply because I heard controversial things about it.

I found it to be unremarkable, nothing shocking.

However, I will say that it takes alot to shock me anyhow. and nudity in pictures in comics doesn't usually stir me. Nor does adult activity.

I loved Buffy on TV. I didn't get into Angel.

I didn't have a TV all my life because we were poor and God hated us.

So I'd miss a ton of episodes and I guess what I saw I didn't enjoy as much as Buffy.

I dropped Buffy a while back. It just wasn't that interesting to me. And throwing in some lesbian action won't change that.

I'd rather read Astonishing X-men than Buffy. Damn shame that they could never stick to a friggin' schedule with that though.

Well I don't know what this'l pan out to but something I loved is that after Willow walked in on the girls she gave Buffy this look of betrayal. Like she was offened that if she was going to experement that it wasen't with her. That just fits their dynamic so insanly well.

Yeah, some people speculated that might be where it's going, if it does, I would think I'm out. I would hate the idea of them together because I think you'd send Willow back firmly into where she began in the start of the series. Back to being Buffy's sidekick. Yeah, she never completely got out of Buffy's shadow I think, but there were definitely times where she had firmly been her own person, and even though she could probably do that here still, it'd just feel too much like a step backward to me. Besides, they already said this isn't the revelation of Buffy as a lesbo.

It was established firmly that this was a one time thing but you just know somewhere in the back of her mind Willow thought she had dibs on that one time.
In other news the one thing I hate about picking up collections from old series is when the volumes start dwindling in number. Knowing there's an end in sight does take a bit of the fun out of it.
