I mean, Newgrounds is already such an organized site, including userpages, etc. You just had the redesign, so what is it that you're planning on adding to the site that could change it that drastically? I'm curious, not attacking you all by the way.

The redesign was just icing on top a very large cake. theres a ton extras planned for the site that are being kept close to the hip (Considering how many leeching game site out there that just sit around waiting to implement ideas NG worked so hard on you can see why). the quicker we can get someone on board who is passionate about NG as they are about their code, the faster we can get these things finished.

It is unfortunate that I have next to no experience in web development. I have plenty of experience coding at an undergraduate level and as an intern, but its not what you are looking for at all. Perhaps if you were willing to higher interns with the purpose of eventually moving them up to full time coders you could have more of an affect on what kind of programmers you get in the long run, but it is understandable there really is no substitute for already achieved excellence.

Have you considered allowing users interested in coding at taking a shot at implementing some of your lower priority features? You know, give some interested parties the option to do some work for the site that the site wouldn't necessarily hinge on, but would help in the long run, and then have a code review in house to decide whether to implement or integrate the code?

I've always wondered if a system like that could work, but it might just be more of a hassle for you guys in the long run. :/

You may want to check out Critical Security and find someone in there.

I've been reading through Tom's News post on the whole monthly voting thing and I've come across a question that I'm curious about.

At 3/4/08 12:37 PM, BlueHippo wrote: that's because one of your submissions is on the list. It's top 2,000 active users, and people with a submission on the list :)

What defines a user as "active"? Is it just the users that are in the top 2,000 experience-ranked users or if for some reason they do not vote at all during that month, is the next person in line eligible to vote for the monthly winners?

Voting on submissions and depositing EXP. If they do not vote at all during that month, then they are inactive, and indeed, the person below them gets a chance. Usually it's somewhere from rank 3,000 to 2,500 and up who are able to vote :)

At 3/5/08 05:20 PM, Nickclick2 wrote: I was pretty active, but where are account options? I only see account configurations.

Your EXP rank is 35,010, that's very very far from the top 2,000. As just stated above, top 2,000 active members is usually people with ranks from 3,000-2,500 and up ;)
