I agree the war on drugs has been an overall waste of funds, but some drugs are highly destructive. I'm sick of the ignorant view that its my body i can do what i want with it. there's more to it. the society as whole is destroyed by drugs. The legalization of drugs would only hurt the economy as well as provide power to other countries creating drugs. It would open a door for more and more people to use them. Weed is not anymore destructive than alcohol, if anything less, but most drugs are extremely harmful.
The idea that the whole country will turn into druggies if drugs were legalized sounds preposterous to me. Is everyone an alcoholic because alcohol is legal? Is everyone a smoker because cigarettes are legal? Is everyone gunning down random civilians because guns are legal?
There are going to be the druggies but they will probably represent the minority.

No, but think of the lawsuits - your drug made me lazy! This is happening with Tobacco and alcohol companies, already. You need to drink quiet some to become dangerous, but most of the functions are impared - therfore human is not as dangerous. Nictoin kills a horse with one drop, but humans can easily intake gallons of that through their lifes. The min problem, si what everyone is used to the drugs. Weed = cigarretes. Just because you think it is completely safe, does not mean... hm... perhaps it may seem strange - but if you think gate-way drugs will be end of the road, you are wrong. :/

Sorry, If my train of thought is meesed up - I am currently under phisical pressure of the body. :P

WHAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND.

How can people say that drugs are dangerous, as dangerous as the already legal alcohol, yet say they should be legalized. If alcohol feels as good as the other drugs, as other people have said, why not drink alcohol instead of complaining about the other non legal drugs? Why should we create and legalize ANOTHER problem if we can't deal with alcoholics and druggies in the first place?

ur reasoning is very poor as to why it should be leagal. it is clear the by legalzing drugs more and more people would become addicted as well as the costs to shoot down. drugs themselves arnt hard to obtain any more than oil is sos to speak and the reason it is so pricy is because it is hard to obtain and the seller is risking alot. people would inevitibly die if it was legalized and you could take drugs instead of asprin or something. its a bad idea. some people have tried banning tobaccoo however that following is much larger and a more "acceptable" drug. acohol is even more so. remember people didnt always know tobacoo was bad for you... it will in my opinion get banned eventually like the outburst of opium a couple of decades ago. if i take a glass of wine ill be fine but if i take a glass of cocane i will die very quickly. substances that hard to control will never be legalized. sorry stupid idea

Well, although most people would probably disagree with me, I'd say because most of them are quite dangerous.

Theres a difference between driving drunk, and driving while your just completely fuckin wasted. But I don't see any reason as to why marijuana is illegal in the US.

Anyway, remember kiddies,
"Johnny smoked a bunch of crack, and almost had a heart attack.
Jimmy smoked a bunch of weed, and all he got was hungry."

James Bond - *Strapped to a table w/ a laser pointing at his crotch* "Do you expect me to talk Goldfinger?"

Goldfinger - "Oh no Mister Bond. I expect you to die!"

Until someone has proof that the 9/11 hijackers were high, I say scrap or at least lessen the DEA.

of course i would never be able to take to the streets again knowing that the guy next to me is possibly high and as a result gonna swerve into me.

Tabacco doesn't affect others (like through car crashes) like marijuana does. you're usually just killing yourself and no one else.

study up on the hard drugs man, people don't usually take those to get good feeling, they do it for relief or to satisfy an addiction, completely different.

Driving high is fucking easy.

Driving is easy in general. I don't see how people crash so much.

They must really suck.

Right. Better that he or she is drunk then?

Smoking marijuana doesn't kill anyone either. Where are you getting your "facts".

Simply because some people loath alcohol, but like marijuana.

Alcohol is worse than marijuana in the majority of cases. If marijuana was decriminalised then less alcohol would be consumed in many instances, especially since there is no alternative drug that is so widely available (like in Supermarkets).

Giving people no option but alcohol as their only available recreational drug is simply very bad policy.

DUDE, i dont think any kind of alchohol , tobacco, or drugs should be legal. Ive known people that have died from second-hand smoke and you think its cool to smoke pot or even just tobbaco.

Drugs are illegal because some people still believe they've got a right to slave-share the populace into productive little handout-happy Democrats.

We gladly feast upon those who would subdue us.
