I feel bad that I never knew who John Ritter was. I blame myself because I don't watch a lot of TV anymore (usually less than 30 minutes a day on the weekdays before I go to school, and nil on the weekends or off weekdays).

However, I have known of Johnny Cash for quite a while. My mother has been a fan of him and his music for a very long time, and I have come to enjoy his music, as well. When I first saw the footage of him being played this morning on TV, I took a deep breath and realized what had happened before I even heard anyone say anything. Then it was on my mind for most of the day.

well, johnny cash slipped away peacefully in his sleep at 1:00 AM this morning, so, we know hes in a better place, but he lived a full and happy life, lets celebrate what cash and ritter did, they both were brilliant, cash was an old southern man, and ritter was....ritter, which is a good thing. they were both fathers, married, but cashes wife june carter cash passed away this spring. they both did great things. i gotta say threes company was so damn funny, in the cheesiest way, that it was funnier! cashes music was deep, thoughtful, and very emotional. may both these men go on to a great place.

I most certainly dont mean to show any disrespect for the man (Johnny Cash) but i mean jeez, his re-made version of the NIN song "Hurt" is terrible. He sings off-key, and shaky...he pauses in the wrong spots, and he replaced the term "crown of shit" with "crown of thorns" what's the problem with "shit" its not a huge curse-word, and besides, if the dude's gonna re-make something as good as a NIN song he shouldnt change any lyrics or shit like that. It just kinda bugged me how he re-did the song and it sucked...but i'm sure he was a great influence on the america music industry and a great man, and i hope he's in a better place, possibly with his wife ;)

well just so you know, NIN's Trent Reznor liked the song very much. and in my opinion, the song was extremely good. A lot of feeling went into it. but i will agree with you and say his singing was a little "shaky".

shut up, that was an amazing song, hurt is so much better when cash sings it than when NIN sings it, so shut your ass up, NIN is good but cash can make any great song better, so please, don't make an ass out of yourself.

Extract from The Sun editorial(British daily tabloid) 13/09/2003

Hell-Raiser

LARGER than life characters don't come much larger than Johnny Cash.

His gravel voice and his rough, tough looks reflected his rip-roaring, rebellious lifestyle.
The Man In Black was certainly no saint.
But he'll know by now if he's gone to Heaven.
Or whether he's waking up with a burning Ring of Fire.

Its weird how they were both named john died on the same day and died within an hour of eachother but I guess thats the way god made it happen. John Ridder Died of a heart problem that happens really quick without warning, johnny cash just died of old age maybe they were suppose to meet in heaven or something and one day make a difference as new lives

i will always miss johnny cash he was one of the greatest singers of all time. to say the least, he was my idol. you are and always will be: the man in black. i guess ill see you in that big concert in the sky.

as for john ritter he was alos a impact on my life i loved the problem child movies and all the other things he has starred in.

well seeing that this is probably the same thing every on else has said ill stop may you both rest in peace

alright, first off, the reason why he changed the lyrics from "crown of shit" to "crown of thorns" is because after his wife died he became a DEVOUT christian and swore off all vices and immoral behavior. And besides who has went through more pain and suffering more than jesus? and seeing that i havent been in a church in years and sometimes blaspheme and question religon that means alot. I personally believe that he was right in doing that and besides who says all covers have to be as good as the original? (not that i am saying cash's version is worse it is just different) if you need more proof listen to the cd "kiss my a**" and that is how its spelled ill say ass if i want to. most of those suck but some dont they are just different, and another reason, the man was 70 when he made that song when you are 70 send me something with you singing on it and we'll see if your voice isnt shaking
