This is the basic layout:
Name, address and contact details.
These go at the top, centered.
Skills:
Talk about your skills, refer back to the grades you got at school/college. Eg:
"Having received a grade B in mathematics at GCSE I can say I have good numeracy skills. These are important for when it comes to cash and credit handling, and stock control, and as such I am well-suited to do work involving cash transactions."
Mention IT capabilities, team-work stuff, politeness, and all that usual bollocks.
Education:
List the schools you attended with the appropriate years you started/finished there. Eg:
"I attended BLAH BLAH, from year twelve (2003) until the end of year thirteen (2005)."
GCSE Reults:
List your GCSE results, starting with the best first.
Then A-Level (if any).
And degrees, etc.
Employment:
In order of earliest, talk about your employment history, with the appropriate months and years you started and finished at the jobs. State why you left your last job. Say something like "I left my job shovelling shit for a desire to gain experience in retail" rather than "I left my last job because it was wank."
Interests:
Talk about your hobbies and interests. Keep it serious, and don't make this part any bigger than the employment history part (unless you have no employment history).
Try and cram it all onto a single side of A4.
