Okay when I watch EVIL SHORT 1 on Newgrounds its all outta time with the audio, but when I watch the .swf that I put on it is in time. So I'm not quite sure whats going on there?

Does newgrounds show its .swf's in a particual frames per second rate cos I did this one in 24 fps where as my other submissions were at 25 fps.

When viewing .swf's in browsers there most often is a drop in the FPS. To avoid this, and make sure that the sounds plays at the right time, you should set the audio to stream.

It is probably out of time with your .swf, but you put it in the right time, so it is ACTUALLY out of time when you put it on Newgrounds. Just move it back or forwards how ever much it is off, in the opposite direction.

No, whatever you set yours to, it will go at.

Don't wanna double post but don't wanna make a new topic either, and I really need this problem sorted cos right now I can't touch flash.

Okay, most of my audio seems to be out of time on newgrounds for some reason; I've had small problems with EVIL EPISODE 1 and 2 with the audio not playing right but not as bad as the EVIL SHORT 1 where its plain out of sync. When I put it on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EN8sTgkOZ CU its in time fine. (sorry for the outside link but its the only way I can prove its in time without just givng people the .swf)

Someone said to stream the audio would help it play in time in a browser; at the moment I start the audio with 'event' and sometimes 'end' the audio on another keyframe. When I set them all to 'stream' they just all play one after another from the start of the animation (not where they're set to play from) so I'm really stuck and really need to know how to fix this before I continue with any animations. (well.. if I plan on putting any of them on newgrounds)

Make each of your sound files a movie clip. As a movie clip, it won't start until its loaded up. It's a pain but it works and its more reliable than just setting your audio forward or backward to be on time.

It is not newgrounds that does this, it is the browser. It happens often with IE. Safari browser is apparently the best for this.

I don't know how well that would work, especially if there are pause buttons or other fun stuff.

Try moving all of the sound files to separate layers and then setting then to Stream.

If I set them to stream, how do I make them start where I want them to start in the .swf? (cos when I set them to stream they just play one after the other without breaks or where they should start from)

Again I hate to double post but bumping this thread is mayb better than making a new one.

I think setting the audio to stream would solve the problem (somewhat) but I don't know how to do that and have it play from the frame it should start from, can someone tell me?

The solution here is to use empty layers. Make layers used ONLY for audio files, and whenever you want a sound file to play in sync with what's happening on the Stage, make a new keyframe, drag the file from the Library, and release. The sound file will be there, so all you have to do now is just sync it to 'Stream'.

I'm pritty sure I'm at that point but when I 'stream' the sounds just play one after another and not where they should start from.

Could extra layers also slow down my .swf's in browsers?
