I wonder if his brother is going to replace him? Either way not too much is going to change down there.

Am I too pessemistic to think that Cuba will sooner or later fall into a political turmoil with their political idol gone/dead?

This is how debate works; 1) Present Facts 2) Use logic to Interpret the facts 3) Then make conclusions.

Under what conditions would someone return to an Island where they risk their life to get away from, what could lead any sane person to do that?
:I ask you.

Having their enemies' political idol dead, I'm sure many would risk and attempt to overthrow the government.

Well, at least Raúl Castro is going to bring some fresh, youthful energy into the Cuban leadership.

That's optimism in my book.

Political turmoil could lead to a collapse of the Cuban government. A collapse of the Cuban government means no more police state, and the Cubans would be able to have free elections. The trade embargo on Cuba could get lifted by the US, Cubans could get economic and individual freedom for the first time in most of their lives, and they can put the horrors of Castro in the past.

Cuba did have "free" elections before I think the next elected will still carry on the tradition of a dictatorship

Um no they didn't.

They had a charade, the illusion of elections while the whole thing was fixed from the beginning.

The word free was in quotation for a reason.

I have a feeling that the Castro autocracy will continue with Raul. However, only time will tell. After half a century of dictatorship, it is time the people of Cuba got their long awaited freedom of expression in all forms.
