Why can't I be free to be as twisted as I want to be?

I love my cousins...But i could never be in love with my cousins.

Even if i did love my cousin in that way. I would never try to make something happen out of that.

I don't think this is true. I think that myths about birth defects from inbreeding (the technical name for having children with family members) are exactly that: myths. The real problem with inbreeding though, is that there's little variation in genes. What this means is that if your family isn't particularly resistant to a certain disease and that disease hits, your whole family will be affected. Though, this is a long term side-effect, you'd need to have made a large population from one family across generations, which in human society, is very unlikely to happen.

I would never love a family member in a sexual way.
Therefore no, I would not marry my cousin.

You just mentioned it's frowned upon and illegal in most states. That usually prevents many from getting married by fear of rejection alone. Try and bring that one up at a family dinner. "folks, I have an announcement to make. Me and my cousin are getting married."

I'm not attracted to my cousin, but even if I were, chances are: she might not like me back and think me sick for liking her, and of course the aforementioned, where the family and community look down upon you wherever you go. If we were living in another culture, tho, it would be perfectly acceptable. Afterall, King Tut married his sister, and no one gave two shits about it.

I'm in the UK. We generally allow minority to walk over us over here. Whether they be Muslim, Polish, or Gay, you can be damn sure they've got more rights than the ordinary citizen. Blair stared it, Brown said he'd stop it, he has yet to do so.

I see a similar thing happening in the US.

And here I was thinking it was because you had a more secular government, and were more progressive then the usa. Now, with that statement, I realize you're no better. Thanks for changing my view of you guys! :D

the people who do marry there cousins are mentally ill let me explain myself, Albert Einstein was known for having no common sense, he once had a cat and Einstein cut a flap in his door to let the cat come in and out of his study now this cat had a litter (kittens) and Einstein decided to make another flap in the door for the kittens when they could have used the existing flap therefore he may be a genius but cannot make up simple thought

It's really weird to me, but it's technically okay to marry and engage in sexual intercourse with your cousin, but not okay to do it with anyone else in the family. The subject is actually open to interpretation because the Bible doesn't say anything about cousin couples being right or wrong. But also, in the Bible, there are occurrences of cousin couples. Isaac was married to Rebekah, his first cousin once removed (Genesis 24:12-14)

There is also Johann Sebastian Bach, John Adams, Adolf Hitler, Jerry Lee Lewis, Edgar Allan Poe, FDR, and thousands of other people I can't remember

Okay, if, like me, there is a three year age difference between you and your oldest female cousin. And you are thirteen, and your cousin is annoying, English and very very shy, there may be something slightly wrong with you.

But with Einstein this was not the case.

No, all my female cousins are pretty ugly imo, but maybe if there was a hot one in there, I may consider a date or I might not.

That doesn't make him stupid. In fact, it's' not a bad idea at all. I would have done something like that. It's the same reason there's a door for the driver of a car and a door for the passenger. Go figure.

Also, you only provided a scene for one person. I need more proof than that to say that they're all idiots.

in british papers a month or two ago there was an article about two unidentical twins who were seperated at birth ended up married, it goes on to say tht when the couple found out they imediately decided to spilt and to never have sex again
how unlucky must that be.

still you'd have to be pretty dumb to do that though, imagine the conversations,

man- "i was born on the 11th of july"
woman- "so was i, i never knew my real parents"
man- "niether did i. i was born and raised in london"
woman- "so was i, we don't half look like each other don't we."
man- "you know what this could mean...we're perfect for each other"

Don't forget Edgar Allan Poe, who married his 12 year old cousin.

Jerry Lee Lewis married his 13 year old cousin.

But I would have difficulty, seeing as my cousin's are basically the closest thing I have to siblings.

Again, only in modern western society may it be considered incest.

Only in contemporary American society is it considered disgusting. In reality, it really isn't. Loving anyone else in the family like that is a different story. It's not wrong at all. It's just portrayed that way in the media, which always blows everything out of proportion anyway. I'm not saying I'm in love with any of my cousins, nor do I know any cousin couples. Even though it's against the law here, marrying your cousin is ethnically acceptable.

Basically everyone in Europe or with European ancestory has an ancestor from nobility/royalty, and nearly all nobles married their cousins to ensure their families position of power. So yeah, whites in general are a bunch of inbreds.

There's a higher chance of genetic disorder occurring if you have sex with a cousin, but it's only because you are both more likely to carry the same recessive alleles. It's not for some magic reason. If you don't have a family history of that disease, then you won't have a higher chance of your child having that disorder whether you screw a stranger or your cousin.

You forgot to mention Edger Allen Poe. And to answer your question, I'm not blood related to one of my cousin so if I did want to marry her it would be okay in the case of retarded children. Not likely the family would approve of it much, but you get what I mean.
