I just found some 'glitches' in Windows. Another reason why Microsoft is sucky. Well, not really-they're kind of fun to play with.
1) You can never rename a file, any file, to con or CON
2) Open Word and type in: =rand(100,99) and press enter.
3) Open Notepad and type in: Bush hid the facts and save it as any file name. Then open the .txt file again.

hehe
Wingdings : type the letters NYC
con is a reserved word, there are alot of those;
you can't create any files or folders called :
CON, NUL, COM1, COM2, COM3, LPT1, LPT2, LPT3,COM1 to COM9 and LPT1 to LPT9
there are more as well
this is because these were(are) devices for MS-DOS
"Bush hide the facts" was funny though... I wonder why that happens

It's a big conspiracy created by Bush and Microsoft to hide the truth...
Actually it's not, it happens with certain length words following eachother, 4,4,3,4.
Does it with a couple of other combinations as well, it's a stupid bug that shouldn't really occur, but hey, welcome to Windows.

The word "glitch" (as you say) is not a glitch, it's an "easter egg" to create a random page for print.
All of waht you have said are easily explained, as people already have said.

You're right, our day to day needs of making files called con and text documents with 4 words in it will be comprimised! How ever will we get all our work done and make a shit load of money :O
I think I'll become a hippy and switch to mac.

After all that windows has enabled you to learn, all the money it's earnt you, why are almost all windows users so quick to say how shit it is and how flawed it is.
No matter how many flaws it has, it's still the best OS. Windows is amazing and personally I am very thankful for it

The "bush hid the facts" thing is actually a little deeper and has to deal with the text being ASCII/Unicode as much as it depends on the sequence of letters:
http://www.bridgetonova.com/2007/09/trut h-of-bush-hid-facts.html
After all that windows has enabled you to learn, all the money it's earnt you, why are almost all windows users so quick to say how shit it is and how flawed it is.
While I agree some of it is just unfair stereotyping, there is truth in some of it, and the fact is, people don't want to deal with buggy software, so they rip on it. Do I think some of it is quite unfair? Yes. Is it all lies? I doubt it.
Also keep in mind some people's problems extend beyond "well something crashed when I did this and I lost my word document," sometimes it's *exceedingly* critical these things don't fail and don't have flaws (we're talking 20x the biggest amount of money you'll probably ever see in your entire life is riding on one computer not having flaws.) Proprietary software is a trap for the most part anyway I feel, so I find these things to be inevitable if you choose that course.
No matter how many flaws it has, it's still the best OS.
Wrong. It's not; it is in fact, vastly inferior to my Linux box for any of my given needs (try and pick up on the hint.)
Windows is amazing and personally I am very thankful for it
So am I. Without Microsoft and Windows, we probably wouldn't have the options open we did today; it never aimed to be the best OS, just one that was cheap and could be used on commodity hardware, for the masses. That still doesn't mean I have to use it or for my needs it's any good, though.

rand is a command you use to test all the letters in different font.
The sentence that appears has all the letters from A-Z.
jes* 100, 99 represents how many times you want it to be writen.
try (1, 1)
there are no SPOOKY things in windows lol.

We're getting picky now. Linux is best for servers definatly, but windows is best for getting work done and making money. It's also easiest to use :)

He he.
Well you can always find some exceptions. But the figures speak for themselves really :D
Let's not get into this though, or we'll all cry, start arguing over what's better IE, FF, Windows, Mac, Linux, White bread, Brown Bread, Jessica Alba, Anna Faris, say things we don't mean, go off in a huff then come back and have make-up sex then be right back to square one....
What was I talking about again?

4, 3 as many times as you like, 5 and save it as ANSI file. I'd say its about 50-75% chance of the error occurring, but the more 3s you put in the lower the chance. It'll cause Notepad to interpret the data as UTF-16 the next time the file is opened; ya its a really stupid bug...
1. Now if you want weird entertainment, go to solitaire and hit [alt]+[shift]+[2].
Another old one I always hear is Microsoft Sam using Cockney rhyming slang. Have MS Sam read the word "crotch" and he'll say "crow's nest."
2. You know those self extracting Zip programs you always seem to be able to run into every now and then? Go to run and type iexpress and it'll launch a wizard for making them.
3. MS Paint has a 10x zoom option, however to use it you must click the pixel row below the 8x option (hard on big monitors, but if I can, anyone else should be able to too).
4. eudcedit, eudcedit, eudcedit. Private Character Editor; not really an easter egg and not a bug, but its a program that for the most part goes undocumented. Unfortunately I didn't have the experience of finding this one myself, a friend sent it to me.

The "Bush hid the facts" one is pretty cool to, although it doesn't seem to work with any other combination of 4, 3, 3, 5 for me...

Uh, you completely missed my point. I get plenty of work done with my Linux box, and they can definitely net me a job.
The point is for my needs, Windows is 100% inferior. Walking around saying "Windows XP is the only way you'll get money, get anything done, because it's the best OS" chalks up to plain ignorance, at best.
It's also easiest to use :)
Relative. I find linux painfully easy to use, although it requires a little maintenance, but that's the (small) price I pay for unreal amounts of flexibility compared to something like Windows.

Several linux distributions are very easy to use, I'll admit that. The problem is that they're also very difficult to set up just the way you want. (For the average user anyway)
Installing anything remotely complicated usually involves typing out a few commands. The average user does not want to type in a load of crap to add a repository so they can install their new 3d desktop interface.
Installing programs on windows is almost always a case of insert cd and click install.
Sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice.

I don't know how true this really is. Ubuntu would probably suit most users needs out of the box pretty nicely. I prefer more customization, so I use ArchLinux.

On my box, it's a case of:
"pacman -S <pkgname>"
One command, no real issues. Gentoo, Debian/Ubuntu, Slackware (slapt-get) all support fairly painless package management. Do they have some quirks? Sure. But I've never really had a problem, and installing this way makes it painless as it also fetches my dependencies and tracks them.
Also, here's all I have to do to upgrade everything on my system (including kernel, drivers, everything):
"pacman -Syu"
Is there an analog for this in windows?
