I think some time ago I heard on the news how Al Gore was a factor in the internet's beginning. I don't remember what he did or to what extent, but the internet was started by the Dept. of Defense and it would make sense for politicians to be included in it's "invention" in some way. Perhaps Al Gore did something uneventful like voting for funding for the internet to get underway, I don't know, but what he said was taken out of context.

What specifically did he say? where did you hear that? I heard that before on NPR and such but I have never seen a direct quote from all gore, in it's full text. If anyone could post that it would be real nice.

From what I've heard, he signed some paper along with a ton of more people, giving the people access to the internet. It was originally used by NASA as a way of easier and faster communication and exchange of information. Or so I've heard.

Sorry about that Tyrant_Nero . I think that he may have done that but I'm not totally sure.

P.S. did you that Nero was a Roman emperor. I think that Nero was the one who set Rome on fire and blamed the Christians.

Bush is trying to erraticate Church and State Seperation. When you go to school next year (unless your mom reconsiders) you may half to pray before you start the day/eat lunch/do homework/breathe/and leave at the end of the day. I'm sorry you think me an asshole, you have a right to your your opinion, but I personally would rather have an asshole than a self-righteous/egotistical/idiotic/racist/holier-than-thou asshole gun nut who I won't doubt had okay plans, but they were because of his advisers not him.

Although Gore did have his problems (he wanted to get rid of homeschooling, he said he invented the internet, he was a censorship nut, he was ignorent of the law, he was boring) I would rather have him than Bush!

Nero is the inspiration for my name. He was a tryannical emperor that set the city of rome on fire and closed the aqueducts so that the flames could not be extinguished. He later blamed the christians for the fire, and started persecuting them, much like Hitler persecuted the Jews.

Back on the subject though. I didnt like the four main candidates for the presidential race. If I had to choose one though, it would probably be Nader. Gore is boring and a total asswipe, and Bush just makes no sense. I don't think i'd like someone in office that says things like "An increasing number of imports are coming from outside the untied states" or "It is not pollution that is destroying the earth, it's impurities in the air and water". Pat Buchannan... Well I don't think I have to say anything about that one. I am happy that Newt Gingrich didn't run for office like he said he was going to a while back. That would have been hell...

If your school is private, and I'm assuming it is if prayer is required, then its perfectly fine that there's prayer. However, it cannot be allowed in public schools. Doing so says that the government promotes one religion over another, and most likely that religion would be Christian. I don't know about you, but I would like to keep freedom of religion alive and well. And please don't even try to say that getting out of school makes prayer worthwhile.
