I remember they did a show on grenade myths. They tested a few different ways to "buffer" a grenade, first with a person laying on it, then by throwing it in a bucket of water, and last by throwing it in a fridge (from some stupid episode of Monk).

But they left off the one myth I always heard where a soldier sees the grenade, quickly whips off his helmet and puts it over the grenade on the ground while either sitting on or otherwise applying his body weight to it.

I always wondered, what would happen? Would it stop the grenade? Could you even hold the helmet down? would it just blow apart?

They could even try with different kinds of helmets, from WWII to Modern kevlar lined helmets.

Sometimes, I think their just doing shit to watch it explode.

I think they should test the Coke and Pop-Rocks myth. Obviously not on themselves, but with a rubber "stomach".

they've done the pop rocks myth before. it's only possible if you drink of alot of coke, down a few packets of pop rocks, then finish it off with two tablespoons of baking soda if memory serves.
