I was arrested for illegally altering a shot gun.
I had the barrel shortened.
I was arrested & charged with possesion of a sawed off shotgun.
When I went to court I showed evidence that I had taken a winchester pump shot gun to a gun smith & he shortened the barrel from 32 inches to just over the legal limit. He reinstalled the bead (sight) back on the barrel.
In this part of the World, As long as the barrel is over 18 inches long its legal.
My barrel was cut down by a machinist. & finished with a lathe.
There was nothing Sawed off about it. My stock was still factory.
I got my charges dropped & my gun back.
I already had a 12 gage with a long barrel, I wanted the shorter barrel gun for hunting in the thick brush around here the smaller gage means the rabbit or grouse/Phesant won't be blowed to tiny bits. Long barrels are difficult to use in the woods.

Moral of the story, Just cause a cop thinks its wrong & illegal, doesn't mean that it is!

It's somewhat relevant in that just because a cop says you committed a crime doesn't mean you did.

This makes me mad. WHO THE FUCK ARE THOSE SADISTIC AND RELENTLESS, COLD BASTARDS THAT DID SUCH A HORRIBLE THING??? I can't believe anyone could force him/herself to do that! That's just plain wrong!
