It's going to go into the sub-zipped folders that contain the information to reverse the effects, and extract them into the workspace of GIMP. You'll have your image back to 100% in no-time.

You shouldn't save them a GIF in first place. There's no going back.

You saved it as a .GIF. The color information is gone and there's nothing you can do about it besides downloading the sprite sheet again or doing all the coloring over again.
