President George W. Bush’s job performance ratings have reached the lowest point since his pre-Inauguration days, continuing a steady decline since a post-9/11 peak, according to a new Zogby America poll of 1,013 likely voters conducted September 3-5.
Less than half (45%) of the respondents said they rated his job performance good or excellent, while a majority (54%) said it was fair or poor. In August Zogby International polling, his rating was 52% positive, 48% negative. Today’s results mark the first time a majority of likely voters have given the president an unfavorable job performance rating since he took office.

Statistics are selective. Approval ratings are contrived. Numbers don't lie, but they can be arranged.
The approval ratings have normally been conducted and released by Gallup. Are these the same crowd that Gallup interrogates?
According to Gallup's poll yesterday (September 5, 2003), as can be seen here:
http://www.gallup.com/poll/releases/pr030905.asp
...Bush has a 59% approval rating.
See what I mean?

of course the numbers are arranged. however, the importance of it is is that finally more and more organizations are opposing bush enough that their polls reflect a slim majority of support for bush or a slimmer majority against him

I view Zogby as one of the honest polling companies, because they've never stated a political opinion left or right. They stabbed at Clinton just as they are at Bush.

Ah, well, I've never heard of Zogby before.
Nevertheless, my point stands.

People are easily swayed by events like September 11th. It took us two years to come back around to the fact that bible-thumping George W. Bush isn't as great as those high-impact newspaper photo ops played him up to be.

Has he given his patriotic 9/11 speech yet, and sais the US is still under threat?
I shall do a happy dance when Cowboy Bush gets kicked out of office.

Lets remeber boys and girls, only one poll matters, and thats election day. Just cause he is popular one day doesnt mean on election day he wont win and vice versa.

We can all hope that Howard Dean pulls through and becomes the next President. George W. has the same burdens tied to his ankles as his father did. The only difference is that Howard Dean is hardly charismatic enough to be a Clinton.

I'm considering moving to Canada either way. I just saw Bowling For Columbine again, and it looks a lot better over there. (Except the shitty weather, the high unemployment, and the fucking stupid accents)
Bush hopefully won't win a second-term, but if he doesn't, then a Republicrat will probably take over. Howard Dean is not a liberal, no matter what you say about him. He supported the first Gulf War and the bombing in Kosovo. It's good to see that he came out against the second Gulf War, but I believe anyone with two brain cells should be against that. I wouldn't vote for someone because of it.

Some parts of Canada have great weather. Plus we dont have very many hurricans or earthquakes up here.

I just saw it last night too. Fucking amazing movie. I'm absolutely in love with it.
Being that I have an aunt in Canada (who moved there in '92 and grew up Stateside before that), who says that despite its problems it's a lot better than it is over here. Having stayed with her in the past, I've found that I would tend to agree. I've been considering moving to Canada anyway for quite some time now, and this movie has only further cemented my opinion that Canadians are a LOT better off than we are.
Cheers,
ShubNiggurath.

Let's just hope we get this chimp out of the white house before the neo-conservatives drain this country so much that the market crashes, and we all have to wear cereal boxes to school as backpacks.

let's hope that all the neo-conservatives get eaten by bears. yep, it's true, nature hates bush. anyone remember when the millions of endangered birds (i think it was like various differenet species, but all endangerd) flew over texas and shat everywhere (including bush's ranch) and they coudln't kill the birds cause they're endangered. so bush had the brilliant idea of trying to scare them off, which made them shit even more

If you want the stock market to get better, then invest in it. The stock market mainly reflects how Americans feel about the economy and what they want to spend.
