Wow, what are the odds? Rig gets a mention earlier in the post and then he's the randomly selected user from thousands upon thousands of choices.
Awesome. Congrats, Rig. I suppose you deserve it after faithfully keeping he Audio Portal alive for so long without much recognition.
I'm somewhat disappointed Gamer Tonight won. While Ross is great and both deserving of and needing the money, those shorts, as he's said, are vastly overrated. It takes him but a few days to make those and they're ranking higher than some really deserving animations on that list (like "The Ghoul and the Girl" and "Tickles' Magic Pickles").

I'm a little upset Tickles' Magic Pickles didn't do better.
I think I put him third or fourth on my list or something... Should've voted him for first. Wouldn't have made much of a difference though.
Such a bummer, that was an awesome cartoon, the likes of which Newgrounds needs more.

You know, I didn't even give that one a chance until Bob recommended it to me. I am so pissed off that I can't animate either at that quality or within that kind of time frame. I wish JEALOUSY gave me as much power as BEER does. Oh well, you're right though, it was quality. I guess it just didn't sell itself somehow?
Indeed. That was incredible. As I mentioned in my review of that movie, I'm incredibly envious of his talent.
He didn't win simply because he had fun and created what he wanted. With very few exceptions, the only way you can get monthly (aside from having an enormously popular name) is if you give the audience exactly what they want, even if it means compromising your previous standards and/or producing crap.

I tried to keep it on the front page extra long, but it never snagged many daily views... I SHOULD HAVE CHANGED THE ICON TO A GIANT BOOB, I BET THAT WOULD HAVE WORKED!!!
And that was both the most spot-on thing I've read all day.

Send him a t-shirt. He won't have to go to the trouble of adding the blue splotch in his next video.

Also, Swain has requested that his prize for Mastermind be passed along to Zekey, who would have been 7th place if The Nut Job wasn't a two-parter:
Zekey's certainly making quite a bit of money from this place lately.
While I usually think he's more than deserving, meh, I dunno, this flash wasn't really that much. It was just a boredom clip he made while working on other stuff.
Ah well, far better than IllWillPress getting it.

This is probably not a good trend. I guess I have fanboys upvoting my crap regardless of quality or something now. Thats not good. :(
A good number of Star Syndicate members are in the top 2,000. That might account for part of it. I really don't know.
Meh, if the money means you can spend more time animating, then you should keep it, man.
There are plenty of artists who justify their constantly winning monthly because of fanboy voting though not deserving with that excuse.
At least yours is much more deserving than theirs.
And this:

Dude, if you don't deserve it for Bench, then you deserve it for something else. I got 2nd with MM2 and probably put as much effort into it.

BURN. Maybe a gold aura around the Tom's Choice submissions on the front page, eh? Why must it always settle on the boob factor!?
Instead of a gold aura, we could just hang a pair of boobs over the icons for my picks.
We really just need that little dropdown box in the header bar of the featured content with "Tom's Picks, JohnDoe's Picks, Most Popular, Highest Rated"... Some day dammit. And maybe Zekey will get a box because I bet he would fill it with interesting things/crap.
Anything involving Tom actually having to favor one submission over another will also involve thousands of people whining and arguing on the forum and in Tom's inbox.

but maybe not :(
Oh yes, we'll all line up for a dollar.
A hundred bucks just doesn't go as far these days as it used to.
