Sellout, man, you need to take a joke like karasz says. Lighten up a bit. You come here with some preachy crap about why we should all give up meat and expect us to be persuaded by it.
Come back with some facts, some figures and a bit of debating skill under your belt and we'll make a fine audience.

Or don't. You see, it really doesn't matter what facts and figures you present and what kind of skill you present them with. The point is, people who eat meat like eating meat. You will never ever persuade us not to eat meat. You could show me absolute proof that eating meat will shorten my life by 50 years. If you do, I'll believe you...and then I'll go get a burger. Sorry but, as I've stated earlier, I just don't care.

I don't really get the point of not eating meat when it's so readily available to consume. Sure some people think its bad or "immoral" to eat animals wich are meeker than us, but im sorry to tell you this, but its how things work you see? Man is made to eat meat! Plain and simple. Another thing, can you honestly give me another reason for the pigs existance? If you ask me, the pigs goal in life is to procure us with food.

Listen to dudeitsallama, Sellout. YOU WILL NEVER EVER GET THE ENTIRE HUMAN RACE TO NOT EAT MEAT, AND NO ONE WILL EVER. Got that? Life's short enough, and if some people want to value animals over themselves, well, they can waste their lives doing that. I'm not going to debate, scream or wail about the ethics about eating meat, I'll just eat it, despite whatever lies, facts, or propaganda people can come up with.
At 9/6/03 02:43 PM, RugbyMacDaddy wrote: Hey Sellout. Not all animals live in these kind of conditions, some people raise their animals in a human environment, its just a select few who raise them like this,
Uh, it's the total opposite. All of these were mass-producing farms, in case you didn't notice. Mass production means that most, if not all of your meat is produced in such a manner.
and if the people who made this video were so against making this video how come the cameraman didnt rush to save the pig being slammed on the floor.
Because then they would've seen that he or she was hiding a camera.
How would they even get a slaughterhouse to let them film this,
Ok, if you had payed attetion to the movie, you would've heard that all of that was hidden-camera footage.
maybe it was staged, in which case its PETA who abuses animals.
STFU, dude.
All them facy clothes you wear are made by people living in the same conditions, physically abused if they dont work hard enough. Why not make a video about that, sweatshops.
Not being allowed to eat? Having their throats slit while still conscious? Being skinned alive? Where the shit are your clothes produced?
Besides, there already are documentaries about sweatshops, in case you didn't know.

Not inflicting harm to otehr living creatures who fell pain and have feelings.

Answer me this then.
If the pig's purpose of existence if to feed man, what is man's purpose of existence?

Hey punk_disease, thanks for the good rational poins. It's nice to see someone actually looking at things form a neutral perspective. You see, these people don't want to admit that torturing animals is wrong because they are afraid that all their life, they have been doing something wrong. They are afraid of change, or just to lazy to make the effort to adjust. Whether you, punk_disease, eat meat or not is not the issue, the issue is that you are giving respect to the animals who are tortured everyday as presented in the video, and one more person who believes in that, makes the much of a difference in the world

no, they're for eating meat. But as chimpanzee anthropologist Jane Goodall noted, the prefect diet for both humans and primates is fruits and vegetables with some meat, NOT the other way around. (i.e. have some steak with your corn, don't have some corn with your steak).
So yeah, the human teeth were desgined to eat mostly fruits vegetables and grains but also meat, however count the number of teeth that are canines versus the rest of them and do the math.
At 9/8/03 11:49 PM, UNpossible wrote: Are you wearing cotton? Lots of animals that lived in that field died under the wheels of tractors.
And I thought animals ran away from danger. SILLY ME
Oh, and I don't suppose you have a link that says how many little bunnies die per year through tactor hit-and-runs?
Eating that grain encourages farmers to use tractors to cut grain, and dismember little animals.
...go towards a squirel with a very loud chainsaw and see if he runs away or stays there waiting for you to dismember him.
No matter what you buy, animals DIED along the way to put it in a store.
Let's suppose that's true, at least they weren't skinned alive or had their beaks chopped off or were beaten senseless with a big-ass metal rod. So if little kittens do sleep under the wheels of delivery trucks, at least there won't be another dead animal on that truck for me.
Punk, you're turning into the left wing version of Nemesis. STFU doesn't cut it for a intelligent reply.

Indeed, I DO eat meat but I know where it came from so I keep it to a minimum and try to replace it with protein bars or fish.
You see, these people don't want to admit that torturing animals is wrong because they are afraid that all their life, they have been doing something wrong. They are afraid of change, or just to lazy to make the effort to adjust.
I somewhat agree with you. Also, yhey could make an argument or two to try to convince you that eating meat isn't bad but instead they just announce that they're going to eat veal. yeah that'll convince vegetarians that eating meat is good.
Whether you, punk_disease, eat meat or not is not the issue, the issue is that you are giving respect to the animals who are tortured everyday as presented in the video, and one more person who believes in that, makes the much of a difference in the world
i speak outside what is recognized as the border between "reason" and "insanity". but i consider it a measure of my humanity to be written off by the living graves of a billion murdered lives. and i'm not ashamed of my recurring dreams about me and a gun and a different species (hint: starts with "h" and rhymes with "neuman's") of carnage strewn about the stockyards, the factories and farms. still i know as well as anyone that it does less good than harm to be this honest with a conscience eased by lies. but you cannot deny that meat is still murder. dairy is still rape. and i'm still as stupid as anyone, but i know my mistakes. i have recognized one form of oppression, now i recognize the rest. and life's too short to make another's shorter

Well, its cool that out of the 500 who watched this and 100 that gave me negative replies, it feels good when someone is on the level giving respect to where it is deserved.
So punk_disease, I was vegetarian for almost a year now, and I saw that video, which even made me more mad. Its funny and sad at the same time how these little fucks are in denial by saying "that dosent happen, its not everywhere" Well, I doubt McDonalds and other corperations get their meat supply from local farms, considering they have to meet their quota of "over 99 billion served" it just upsets me that people see the truth and either deny it, or make fun of it. And then people talk about how thats propaganda. Well what the hell do you call what meat and dairy companies have been doing to us all these years??? Do you people actually think we were meant to drink milk? Don't you wander why milk is produced only when babies are born? Do you think that cows are super-animals and that they were put on this earth to give us dairy? Why do you think so many people are lactose-intolerant? THINK people. Don't just accept what is presented to you, look for the fuckin truth.

I understand your views, and I respect them. But I choose to eat meat. I think that there are animals being abused in farms. and i think that those farms should be shut down. But I just have to make it clear about how most farms kill there animals for meat.
Chicken: quick chop to the neck with an axe. By the time they would feel anything they would be dead.
Cow/Pigs: they use a hit on the forehead or some kind of pain killer to numb them. then they slit there throught.
Lobster/Crab: they put them in a vat of wine or beer first. not only does it add to the taste but if they dont die from alchol poisoning then they are too drunk to notice anything.
sorry about any spelling grammer or punctuatin(cant spell that) mistakes. i suck at typing and spelling.

Ok Aaron, Ill give you that. That may be the way local farms kill their animals, but the fact that 10 billion animals live and die through these sick and unmoral conditions is not to be excused or ignored. I do appreciate your effort to analyze the situation, instead of making an idiotic statement like "im gonna go kill some cows" like a lot of these fucks are stating.

believe it or not, humanely treated animals do in fact taste better. Islam and Judaism have religious rules for the humane treatment of meat animals. However, I'm not either of those religions, and I would LOVE to work in one of those slaughter houses. I'm not afraid to live up to the fact that those animals are badly treated. But in the end, killing them for food is worse than making them live miserable lives, isn't it?
