What video game movies did you think especially sucked ass? Or was really good... What games do you think should be turned into a film? Here's a list of games that are in the works for the silver screen: Spy Hunter, American McGees Alice, Nightmare Creatures, House of the Dead, Duke Nukem, Max Payne, a Halo movie is also in the works I think. Don't hold your breath though.

First, I'd like to say that this is my 300th post...
now that I've got it out of my system here's my reply : All of the movies that are based on Video Games suck because they are like sequels - they rely
on the predecessor's success to succeed...
yes because they never stick to the idea of the game. like that dumb fuck that made resident evil. he should have seen at that time how fucking gay final fantasy and tomb radier was. the maybe his movie would have done better. i even wrote him a letter and i just got back a "thanks for writing" fucking thing.
game based films are crap, but film based games are worse! I mean take Enter The Matrix, they put so much money intot he license, and then get this: went and made three completely different engines. No wonder they didn't have time to beta test it.
You guys may wanna preserve me in ice. Cause I beleive I am the one and only person in the world who really liked the Mario Bors. movie. I know it had nothing to do with the game.....but still...I enjoyed myself.
And everyone have to know that duke nukem has been announced like 10 years for a movie release, but nothing come...
the worst movie about game is tomb raider...
mortal kombat kicked ass and street fighter i dont seen it,but i thin its only comic...
Ikinda excited to see what there gonna do with the Eternal Darkness license and movie and TV show gotta love those Insanity Effects.
on of the movies that sucked the worst was the final fantasy movie.
How do they plan to make a film out of a 200 year old game with no plot? I don't think I was even born when spy hunter was released. That's like what, pre-1980?

No...spy hunter is an ancient midway game that was released in the early 80s if my memory serves me.
Unless they've updated it.
the mario brothers movie was so terrible :x
I think it's much easier to make movies based off of video games now, because the video games have more developed plots and many are even very movie-like to begin with.
I'd kind of like to see a movie based off of the Myst universe.

Spy Hunter will star the Rock as the lead and actually has a very good storyline. Pick up this months Game Informer magazine to get more info. It looks like it'll be a good flick
videogame-based movies that sucked: All the Tomb Raider films
videogame-based movies that were good: All the Matrix films (including Animatrix)
videogames that would make great movies: Quake 1, Duke Nukem, Half-life

I didn't even know the spy hunter even had a name...is there documentation on it somewhere.
That game is way too old, why are they turning it to a film. I also do not want to watch a man who half the time is semi naked covered in oil and is pretending to fight other men.
Not all of them are crappy. One great Movie-based game was Goldeneye for N64, and one game-based movie I thought that was ok was street fighter, but I do agree that most of the time it turns out crappy.
And speaking of movie based games, does anyone know of the game bloodrayne? They've disided to make a movie based on it, but with a budget of only 30 million, it doens't sound like this movie will be that good. Until it's released, the only thing we can look forward to is how sexy-looking the woman who plays bloodrayne is. (for those who don't know, bloodrayne is a sexy female vampire)
you know what would probably be a good video game movie? legend of zelda.
