97.7 Elios Radio

Heys guys, i got an interesting idea for a "weekly series", and i want to get some feedback from the general public, before i put this in production. (I was going to post this in the flash forum. But it's not really a flash, just a bunch of thoughts and ideas.)

Anyway, It's a little somthing called "Elios Radio". Simply put, it's a voices only flash, that discusses whats going on on Newgrounds, Kinda like Radiogrounds. I've never been able to get Radiogrounds to work anyways, so i have no idea what exactly goes on there. Every week (Saturday) I'll submit the new show.

It'll be useful for anyone that missed a few days on NG, or a few weeks, each show will be dated, so they can catch up on has happened: BBS stuff, user of the day, flashes submitted/blammed, front page selections, etc. All the new info, rolled up into a radio show. (This will also helpful for those with little time. They can listen in, get the info, and check it out later.)

It's all about you. Want to advertise your stuff for free? No problem. Song requests, shout-outs, it'll be fresh, new, and fun! Every week (Starting today maybe...) I'll provide updates of what's new. Weekly interviews with the people of NG. Crazy/funny stories, live phone calls,
anything and everything!

It sounds like an interesting idea, but I think it would be difficult to come up with news solely about newgrounds for every episode. Perhaps you should extend its scope to include world news?

of course you're gonna have a bunch of attention whores on NG clogging up the BBS with "TALK ABOUT ME ELIOS" topics if this idea comes to reality.

Well i thought about that, perhaps updates on certain websites. political issues, etc.

My schedual will look like this

- Intro
- Front page update (what's new, what's awesome)
- Portal (flash/audio) update: KotP, turd of the week, Review Crew pick, Underdog, top ranking
- BBS users of the day/week
- BBS update
- (Advertisement)
- Live phone call / Interview
- Other news, shout=out, (Advertisement)
- Song request
- End show

I'll throw in other things every week. What's new in my inbox. A funny story (someone can request that i discuss somthing they experienced) Level ups, bans, welcome new users.

I thought about that too. It's be just me talking, but i will also povide visuals, such as websites, screenshots, pics relevant to what i'll be discussing. Also, gotta have a cool radio show logo to show off!

I was thinking of a show name that goes with the station number. Like in buffalo, we has STAR 102.5, and 101.1 The River. Something catchy

I do recall that this has been done before, but I forget who did it. There's no reason not to try it out though. Perhaps you will succeed where they failed. Let us know how production comes along, and when the first 'broadcast' will be coming out.

You know, I did do a show on College Radio, but it sucked because no one listened.....

I'd probably listen to the first few episodes, but if it's fairly interesting I'd keep up with it. You should submit it to the audio portal. Also, it might be a bit had to organize and record, but perhaps guest stars? Even interviews with popular artists?

Ok, i got most of it worked out. Here's the basics of the show:

There will be a new show every friday night. Here's the basic scedual up this weeks show

- Front page picks
- Flash/Audio Portal News / The new stuff
- BBS users of the week
- Forum Topics (In's and Out's)
- Tonight's Topic
- Live calls
- Interview with: MCJesus
- Around the Internet (New stuff, outside of NG)
- Screamers (Shout outs / Requests from users. Want to request? PM me)
- Song request
end show

First show premiers this Friday at 10 pm.

During the show, i will also be doing free advertising for anyone/anything. If you want a spot on the show, PM me.

hmm.. do you know anyone you have actually talked to or met who will co-host with you, it might be a bit hard writing all your own material and talking by yourself. 1 person radio station normally get boring because there is no conflicts, arguments and only 1 opinion. If you have a mind blank and don't know what to say (I know it isn't live) it's good to have someone fill in, etc.

Thanks. It would be great to get a few more people to help work on this. I know i'm a fairly good writer. but you're right about the "one man show" getting a little, dull. It would be great to get an organization of people to do this show. But so far, no luck.

I'll do the first show myself, see how it takes off. After that, if people are interested, they're more than welcome to participate.

Unless I missed something, where will this be uploaded? Flash portal or Audio Portal?
