I've never heard of any of them. Are these movies from the 60's or something?

No, some of them are quite recent.
36. Magnolia
That's the only one on that list that i've seen.
It's raining frogs!

I've only seen those ones, and my favourites are Ghost World, Fargo and Dark City.
So far, out of your list, I've only seen Metropolis, Lost in Translation, and Babel.
Me: sex is fun God: it is more fun alone.
It's backwards! You ruined the surprise :(
Haven't seen most of them. Maybe 5 or 6 but no more.
I swear to god george if you even existed i'd divorce you.
Great list.

I just checked your top 3. Seven Samurai is my third-favorite Kurosawa, and Dog Day Afternoon carries Al Pacino's best performance ever, imo.

I love every movie Tarantino has directed, but nothing he's ever made matches up to the brilliance of Jackie Brown.
excuse for bump

You basically just created a list of movies I've never seen.
Looks like a good list, even though I haven't sen a fair few of them. It's always good to see foreign films listed on NG, particularly if at least one of them is a Fellini flick. I'd like to see a Kurosawa film, but I can never find one :(
Fargo is excellent. I actually now want to live in the midwest because of that film. Okay, not the best film for inspirations, but it was so homely!
I think "Punch Drunk Love" is pretty much the only Adam Sander movie I haven't seen.
Mainly due to the fact that I can never find it.
Only one I've even heard of is Babel, and that's cuz my mom was watching it. I saw the sexy naked asian girl scene.
5. Jackie Brown - Good
11. Chinatown - Okay
13. City of God - Great, one of the best
22. L.A. Confidential - Eh
24. Dr. Strangelove - No
27. Raging Bull - Eh
31. The Maltese Falcon - Okay
33. Punch-Drunk Love - Eh
35. Lost in Translation - Nah
39. Ghost World - Eh
41. Fargo - Good
42. Boogie Nights - Great
44. Babel - Nah
46. Dark City - Okay
47. Rushmore - Eh
50. Malcolm X - Okay
Where's Crash, Seven, Interview with the Vampire, Blow, and more....

Lulz, same here.
What a boring list.
There's really nothing very adventurous on it, and very little which I particularly liked (the latter of these statements is obviously the less important).
Go out there and get a better list.

Shows how much you read the first post.

Crash - Oversimplifies a controversial issue, trying to gather every racial stereotype they can think of and fuck them in the asshole on-screen.
Seven - Great movie, didn't like the ending. I know it basically summarized the point of the film, but it paced too long and by the time "the scene" came, I no longer cared.
Interview with a Vampire - Good movie, far from top 50 material.
Blow - Read above.

Okay, this might take a while... Here we go!!!
20. Requiem For a Dream
Finally, one I have seen. A very good movie indeed, but very strange. Good to watch if ready for a good plot and just overall weird movie.
24. Dr. Strangelove
I've been wanting to see this for a while, but can't find a copy. :'( If you could give me a place to rent or maybe download, that would be sweet.
35. Lost in Translation
I've seen this too, but its been a while. I should probably re-watch it.
That took a lot less time then I thought. I only commented on the movies I have seen too. I've heard of most, but I haven't got around to seeing them.
Thats a big list, i've only seen like 5 of those movies

Mininova, Netflix, or Blockbuster should have it.

I read all of it, but I went through it too fast, I guess.
Disregard this post.
I feel kind of bad because I have only heard of 21 of the 50 movies you listed. But hey I guess you cant see them all.
