I doubt kids would know who Max Headroom is, or Q-Bert, or Reaganomics or who Bob Ross is.
Or '80s pop bands.

It wouldn't suprise me if iGen (I feel like I'm the only one who calls Generation Y iGen) beacme the next big generation. Also some of iGen was born in the early 90's. iGen's bith takes place between 1980-1995.
WHICH MEANS THAT GENERATION Z IS THE NEW SILENT! SO STFU YOU 12 YEAR OLDS!
It's also called the Homeland Generation.

The cheesy painter with the wacky hair?

Don't even get me started on this one.
The thing that's really starting to freak me out, though, is that now I'm finding that kids don't know about the shit from pop culture when I was a younger kid, and it's only been a little over half a decade!

It seems all of this debate stems out of a lack of a standard for generations. Also terms add to confusion considering some use Millennials applying to Gen Y, and some use to apply to Gen Z or the "Homeland Generation". Also the random factor of the people themselves even adds more to it. Even though some might be born after or before the "official end date" or "official start date" of a Generation doesn't mean they don't end up fitting into it (overlap periods).
Here are my own opinions on birth years with the idea of overlap periods explained above:
1960-63 Last of the Baby Boomers, More Gen X
1964-78 Gen X
1979-82 Last few of the Gen X, More Gen Y
1983-95 Gen Y
1996-99 Last few of the Gey Y, More Gen Z
2000- Gen Z
Also makes sense in this layout in the Parent/Child relationship. Most of the parents of the Gen Y are either early Gen X or late Baby Boomers, Most of the parents of Gen Z kids are either early Gen Y or late Gen X. And so on. Just my .02.
